Livin' in the Big Old City. Long story short, I picked up my life and moved to NYC. I blame it all on a "quarter-life crisis" and a dream that just wouldn't lay down and die. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Things have been crazy-busy over here. I've been a horrible blogger and I promise to get better. My mom and cousin arrive today for a week, and I'm taking a much needed "staycation.". It'll be good. I promise. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. View my complete profile.

Livin' in the Big Old City. Long story short, I picked up my life and moved to NYC. I blame it all on a "quarter-life crisis" and a dream that just wouldn't lay down and die. Thursday, March 15, 2012. Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore. So the only term I can use to describe this past week is "whirlwind". or, perhaps to stay in true "Wizard of Oz" form, as a "twister.". But God bless my hair and make-up ladies, right? And, I had the opportunity to dress up to the point of looking like some extremely wealt...

I could get used to this. As many of you know, one of Erik's (many) skills is his ability to do 'the worm'. it's a crowd-pleaser at dances, weddings, etc. Well, at a Four Seasons event a few months ago, this move (done in front of some corporate higher-ups) won him a free night stay at the hotel, including complementary dinner and breakfast. Who knew this semi-obnoxious dance move would have such a big pay-off? Sorry about the cell-phone photos. I need a real camera). A little piece of heaven. Family tra...

Typical street. it takes a while to get used to the population density. Riding the Star Ferry across the harbor to Kowloon. Locals don't go anywhere without an umbrella. rain or shine, they're using them. Standing on the Kowloon side with Hong Kong Island (where I live) in the background. My professor is providing an end-of-the-year Absinthe party. You know it's going to be a good quarter when you go to your first class (Drug Wars) and your 75 year-old professor swears like a sailor, brings in a bottle of Vicodin for show and tell, and promises an end-of-the-year Absinthe party. My life - a series of continuous goodbyes. With that said, I sometimes ask myself, "So, why again did I choose to take on a career filled with constant distance to loved ones and inevitable goodbyes? I've loved ev...
