Living in the shadow. Thursday, September 22, 2005. September 21, 2005. Thought I'd let you all know what was going on and ask again for your prayers, (they are obviously being answered and I wouldn't dare go for chemo without them! I have done amazingly well after my first treatment. More good news. my oncologist believes I will continue to respond the same way, although my fatigue will increase with each treatment. The kids are doing great! Love to you all, Linnea. Posted by Linnea @ 9:36 PM.

Living in the shadow. Monday, October 24, 2005. October 24, 2005. I feel bad that I haven't let you all know how I am doing until now. I feel really good! This last treatment was about the same as the first and not nearly as bad as the second. Even better, I have only one treatment with the same drugs. Then I get to start another type, (although they've told us the nausea won't be near as bad). I feel good emotionally, physically and spiritually. I have never experienced being carried by God's grace ...

Living in the shadow. Monday, October 10, 2005. October 5, 2005. Well I'm one treatment closer to being done. yeah! This one hit me longer and harder, (physically and emotionally), and the anti-nausea medication I was on wrecked havoc on me for a while, (I'll take something else next time). But, I feel better now and I'm learning to deeply appreciate when I do feel good. I also battled a cold/slight fever for a couple days, but am now gaining more strength. Next treatment is Oct. 14th. September 21, 2005.

Living in the shadow. Thursday, April 27, 2006. April 13, 2006. Hope you all are doing well and staying dry, depending on where you live! I wanted to let know how we were doing and how my treadmill test went. The treadmill test was yesterday (Wed.) and went fine. My cardiologist said that my echocardiogram looked good and said that I did fine on the treadmill too, (although I felt completely out of shape! We had a great time! Love to you all! Resting in God's grace, Linnea (and Tim too). March 14, 2006.

Carolina Chronicles: January 2010

http://carolinachronicles.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 31, 2010. Have tooth will giggle. I remain amazed at how beautifully serene our little guy is. Even though he has clearly been teething, as evidenced by the tiny tooth which now graces the left side of his jaw, he has still been a very pleasant boy. I have noticed a slight upswing in fussiness, but it is hardly worth mentioning. Daniel and I feel so incredibly blessed to have been eased into parenthood by such a gentle soul. Links to this post. Tuesday, May 26, 2009. I was killing time on the New York Times website today when I came across an editorial. Collection discussing whether or not prom should be abolished, given that it has become an evening of excess of just about every sort for hormone-driven teenagers who have not fully developed the capacity for good judgment yet. I'm not criticizing them for it. it's just true that the brain doesn't mature until about the age of 26! No way, Jose! There you have it. No prom for me. Perhaps I am jus...

Sunday, March 29, 2009. Like to see him perform, and if practices away from me are part of the deal, then I suppose I'll figure out how to live with this every 2 weeks or every month or so. This arrangement has several benefits for Daniel:. 1 Excuses for road trips, which he loves. 2 Being a performing musician again in more than just a church choir capacity. 4 Inspiring new admiration in his wife. Monday, April 27, 2009. Take Me Out to the Ice Rink. Well, 5 hours of much-needed napping later, I can officially state that I both survived and really enjoyed our little field-trip to Raleigh and the RBC Center to see a game in which the Hurricanes stuck it to the Devils and the guy in our net got a shut-out against his childhood hockey idol. Wooooooohoo! These are my top three reasons for this conclusion:. Links to this post. Thursday, April 23, 2009. Links to this post. Tuesday, April 21, 2009. It's r...

Friday, June 26, 2009. Lost Icons, and Unfading Icons. The AP ran an article this morning on the events that added up to a "bad day" for Generation Xers, the generation to which I apparently belong by virtue of my birth year. It was a bad day because we Xers lost two cultural icons (or three, if you want to count Ed McMahon, whose passing quickly became passe in the wake of the news about Farrah and Michael). Daniel and I sat on the couch last night watching my belly bounce up and down as a little person...

Tuesday, September 29, 2009. The report is mixed today. First, the fun stuff: We went to the Greek festival on Saturday. The weather has been nice - crisp in the evenings and warm enough for comfort during the day, with showers (and the occasional torrent) from time to time. We chose to eat at the festival and bring home some goodies for later. Everything has been very yummy so far! That's it for now. I'll try to upload some pictures later on! Links to this post. Friday, February 5, 2010. You say that to all the moms. What I do like is the other thing I was told at Ian's appointment on Wednesday. Oh my gosh, he's so cute.". He's sooooo cute.". The girl checking us in said it about 3 or 4 times before I said,. Well, thank you, but I bet you see a lot of cute kids in here.". She replied, "We see a lot of kids. You could say that much.". No, really, he's so cute! I think so - flat, lopsided head or no! You have ONE CUTE BOY! I want to see some more videos! Choral So...

Friday, July 31, 2009. So, while unpleasant, this development wasn't unexpected. Some elective procedures I'm okay with, but not those that take two lives into the balance when nature has been doing a pretty good job of accomplishing the same thing since the advent of humanity. So, I fretted and read and worried and cried off and on for 12 hours until finally, mercifully, had an appointment with our OB just before office closing time. 3 My gestational diabetes - which can cause premature aging of the pla...

I am not sure which motivation is stronger in my life. Sometimes I think it just depends on the day. Whatever the case, I found myself sitting and talking to our local priest yesterday about some of my recent struggles, and when he asked about my prayer life, my answer was a bit unusual - even for me:. Livin in the Mitten

Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Happy New York Day 30. The best part of the trip was seeing a Broadway show with my sister. I love, love, love the theater! And there is no better way to see a show than in New York City on Broadway. We saw Book of Mormon and, while a touch blasphemous, it was the most entertaining show I've ever seen! Friday, December 27, 2013. Something else that was needed (among many other things) was a sectional. I have wanted one for a while now. Thanks to Craigslist, and a nice couple of dudes that were trying to sell it fast, we got this for a crazy good price. It found its place in the den. Livin' In The USA. America: The Beautiful, Hot Mess. Be Careful What You Wish For America(Lifehouse’s “Everything”). April 15, 2011. Over the past few days I felt compelled to create this movie about Jesus and the state of America. It’s not another fluffy Jesus movie. It’s beautiful in the beginning, but later you’ll find yourself fastening your seatbelt and locking your tray tables in the upright position. Is this what God intended for us? Is this all there is? What’s the meaning of life? Why are we here.
