Livvy's Life: Tea Break

http://livvylife.blogspot.com/2011/12/tea-break.html

It is important, when death finds you, that it finds you alive' Anon. Saturday, December 17, 2011. It was a day full of rain here in the south east of England, last Sunday. Most of the day the clouds held the water just above our heads: great grey cushions bursting with drops. Finally, around five, they began to fall. When we first walked in. It was the perfect setting for our scene - a library masquerading as a public school staffroom during the First World War. Soon they brought me to make-up; then it ...

Livvy's Life: October 2011

http://livvylife.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

It is important, when death finds you, that it finds you alive' Anon. Saturday, October 29, 2011. With great trepidation and a tiny leap of the heart, I would like to announce that in order to honour the good and special people who come back to this place time after time to check if there is something new to read - and to honour that something in myself which has never quite let this blog go - I have signed up tonight to NaBloPoMo. But oh, what will this bring? Posted by Livvy U. Links to this post.

Livvy's Life: New worlds

http://livvylife.blogspot.com/2011/11/new-worlds.html

It is important, when death finds you, that it finds you alive' Anon. Tuesday, November 29, 2011. I keep starting this post and then deleting what I've written. I've been wanting to muse about love, and the lovely youngish man. But I'm tired and instead I find myself simply marvelling at what it is - I mean, what's the process? But then the remedy came towards me on Friday night with an open heart and huge smile and it didn't seem such a scary thing after all, re-connecting with the company of men. A...

Livvy's Life: November 2011

http://livvylife.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

It is important, when death finds you, that it finds you alive' Anon. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. To catch the 2255! I shriek above the cacophany that is London traffic on a Wednesday night not long before Christmas. We are legging it, fast as we can, from Covent Garden to St Pancras to catch the hi-speed home. A fair old walk at the best of times. I really can't miss this train! Come on, come on! I berate myself when I can't find the car key, throwing the contents of my handbag onto the tarmac. The ca...

Livvy's Life: Really Thoughts

http://livvylife.blogspot.com/2013/02/really-thoughts.html

It is important, when death finds you, that it finds you alive' Anon. Saturday, February 02, 2013. There’s a column in The Guardian’s. Saturday magazine called ‘What I’m Really Thinking’. It’s always anonymous, and it does just what its headline suggests: allows someone to tell their secrets without letting on who they are. I was going to write for it tonight. I counted the words of this week’s column, to see how many I’d be allowed. I noted the email address. Them to know what I’m really thinking? I&#82...

August | 2015 | Reluctant Memsahib

https://reluctantmemsahib.wordpress.com/2015/08

The diary of wife, mother and failed domestic goddess in Africa. Archive for August, 2015. August 2, 2015. The face of an unknown child smiles from the pages of newspapers or a television screen. They’re missing. You gaze upon that face and you think, ‘God, their poor parents, that poor, poor kid’. And then the face vanishes and the next news item is highlighted and you get up to make a cup of tea or let the cat out or fix supper. It’s awful. But you move on. Since last Thursday, I have. The scaremon...

The diary of wife, mother and failed domestic goddess in Africa. December 15, 2015. As I write my now university-going Hat is winging her way home for the Christmas holidays – London – Amsterdam – Dar es Salaam and tomorrow a flight to the Outpost. She will be followed at the weekend by her older siblings. And then we will be a. And life will be glorious and loud and greedily voluptuous, salted with laughter and too long lunches and too late nights as we all catch up. Revel in the feeling. When I first g...

The Barefaced Poet: July 2010

http://liverpoolpoet.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, 22 July 2010. In search of Cupcake. I received a 2nd hand book today that I'd ordered on line from America and inside the cover I found a birthday card! I opened it and it read. Even if you called Mrs cleaver a notorious strumpet". Now, having recently had a birthday myself, I thought it may have been a marketing ploy from the company I bought the book from but clearly not, unless this is some strange coded message! If you happen to be on facebook, or even if you're not, click on this link.

The Barefaced Poet: A special day...

http://liverpoolpoet.blogspot.com/2012/03/special-day.html

Friday, 2 March 2012. Way back in 2007, I told you about 'The Liverpool Saga'. And how some lines of my poetry had been selected to go into the saga. Well, NML have finally got round to doing something with the poem. They initially said it would go on a special brass plaque in the museum, with all the names of the contributors, but that never happened. The saga has now been published in book form and is in the 'The Museum of Liverpool'. When it was first published, my contribution was verse three! We wen...

The Barefaced Poet: You can never go back...

http://liverpoolpoet.blogspot.com/2012/01/you-can-never-go-back.html

Thursday, 19 January 2012. You can never go back. That's the saying isn't it? Generally, I abide by this and if I've had a fantastic time somewhere I am always loathed to go back because I always think that the next time I go, it can never be as good. When my sister and I were little, mum and dad used to take us and the caravan down to Abersoch and we'd stay on a camp site right next to The Warren. The Warren is the main beach in Abersoch and it's lovely; golden sand, lovely views etc. We took mum and Mo...

The Barefaced Poet: November 2010

http://liverpoolpoet.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, 18 November 2010. We're in a recession apparently and the amount of people trying to save money, or talking about trying to save money, has exploded! I love it personally as we've been trying to live cheaply for a few years now, since I had to give up work. Hence getting the chickens, growing fruit and veg, amongst other money making (or rather money saving) exercises. This is the diary of a chicken keeping friend of mine and I love reading what she's been doing to save a penny or two! Saturday...

The Barefaced Poet: April 2011

http://liverpoolpoet.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, 24 April 2011. A lovely Good Friday walk to Hale Lighthouse/beach. It nearly killed me and is taking 2 days to recover from but it was worth it! Had a lovely medicinal drinkie at The Childe of Hale pub too before heading home. John Middleton (1578–1623) was an English giant commonly known as the Childe of. Hale Most of what is known about him is based on oral tradition and legends. Legend tells that he slept with his feet out of the window of his small house. The long walk down to the beach.

The best way to clear your head and let go of that do-list that won’t stop running through your brain? The Wallflower Times

December 12, 2010 · 1:16 pm. I learned the truth at seventeen. That love was meant for beauty queens. And high school girls with clear skinned smiles. Who married young and then retired. The valentines I never knew. The Friday night charades of youth. Were spent on ones more beautiful. At seventeen I learned the truth. And those of us with ravaged faces. Lacking in the social graces. Desperately remained at home. Inventing lovers on the phone. Who called to say come dance with me. A guarantee of company.

The journey is the destination. Shopping for Sex Toys! Wicked Wednesday 241 Anticipation – Flogged. January 10, 2017. I tense, for just a moment, and then relax my entire body, waiting…waiting for that first blow to connect with my flesh. Before I can tense up again I hear the distinct sound of a flogger moving through the air and gasp as it makes impact. My ass stings in a pleasant way and it starts all over again.
