http://francifulfibers.blogspot.com/2013/11/gender-non-conforming.html
A place to share with other fiberart enthusiasts. Wednesday, November 13, 2013. I was asked to participate in the Sunday service on Sexuality at my Unitarian Fellowship because I am the parent of a young adult who identifies as gender non-conforming or gender queer. As I was writing my story, I was inspired to make this quilt: "Are You a Boy or a Girl? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am a part-time fiber artist who tends towards a minimalist style. A tail of strap was left hanging that didn't look good at all. So I examined some bags and realized I needed a "thingy" I eventually learned was called a triglide! I think my bag is much nicer now. Triglide and rectangle ring wider strap. Sunday, December 5, 2010. Slideshow of Artquilt bags. The bags were well...

The twin baby quilts are in their mothers' hands waiting for Twin A and Twin B to arrive. This pattern is called Baby Babushka and was created by Carrie Unick of Ferndale, WA. You can find it at Calicocountry.com in Lynden, WA. I made them "international" by using fabrics from USA, Africa, Australia, Indonesia, South/Central America, and Japan. These pics are before.

Franciful Fibers: October 2013
http://francifulfibers.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
A place to share with other fiberart enthusiasts. Friday, October 11, 2013. Frank Llyod Wright inspired. I made this quilt for my brother-in-law who is an architect. He and I both like FLW, so I looked in a small book I have about Frank and found a fireplace he designed. This is basically his design with some added color. I really enjoyed using my collection of off white textured fabric. It is only a two layered quilt - a summer weight -. Hence the quilting is not as striking. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Jeanne Marklin: Snow dyeing with MX dyes
http://jeannemarklin.blogspot.com/2015/02/snow-dyeing-with-mx-dyes.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Snow dyeing with MX dyes. In the North East we have had snow storm after snow storm. Although it would be great if we could have the snow along with 70 degree weather, the snow is beautiful and a gift for dyers! The fabric is soaked in soda ash first and then hung to dry. I use a folding home drying rack that can be folded away. Carol used dry dye powder on top of the snow. I used dye concentrates but will try the dry powder as an experiment. After the snow has melted, the f...

Jeanne Marklin: December 2014
http://jeannemarklin.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 21, 2014. Recent work and Holiday wishes. FaceBook has taken over my social media life and I've been spending more time on it and less posting to the blog. My FaceBook page link is Jeanne Marklin Art. I did finish a couple of pieces in the last few months. They haven't been exhibited yet but will be entered in juried shows in 2015. Entering shows is always a crap shoot but it's also a validation that our art work is speaking to others. Here's a piece I finished in July:. Art With a Needle.

Thursday, October 16, 2014. Autumn in the Berkshires. Sweet Brook farm llamas. They have great wool, maple syrup, eggs and things made from alpaca wool. A visual treat of Autumn color on an overcast and drizzly day. Looking down our street toward Williams College. The two points are the college chapel. October 17, 2014 at 4:18 PM.
