Creativity: January 2012

http://lizcreates.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Join Liz Berg on her creative journey. Monday, January 16, 2012. Construction has continued at a pretty fast pace. This is where we were just before Christmas. In the picture below you can see the walls going up on the upstairs part. Everything is braced at this point although sheer wall is already up on part on the lower section (sheer walls keep things straight during earthquakes and provide more strength to the building). Ashton is busy building his own buildings. And, ta da! Friday, January 13, 2012.

Creativity: Found my soul today

http://lizcreates.blogspot.com/2014/01/found-my-soul-today_16.html

Join Liz Berg on her creative journey. Thursday, January 16, 2014. Found my soul today. I spent a glorious day in the studio. It was so wonderful as I have been struggling with my depression and lethargy. But, today was very productive! I printed a big bunch of deli paper for collaging using my gelli plate and stencils as resist. Using Golden Open acrylics, I was able to pull three positive prints plus three negative prints off of each plate that I did. What fun! But then, on I went to 4 x 4's. This piec...

Creativity: October 2012

http://lizcreates.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Join Liz Berg on her creative journey. Saturday, October 20, 2012. Got my MoJo back! I have been having a number of very good days in the studio. I started a class given online by Elizabeth Barton. On creating a series through Quilt University. I have long been an admirer of her work and since I have been off my art lately, I felt this would be a good thing to do in order to get me focused again. This is number 1 which was done exactly like the small sample which was 6 x 6. I have noticed on my stats tha...

Creativity: And it just keeps coming

http://lizcreates.blogspot.com/2014/01/and-it-just-keeps-coming.html

Join Liz Berg on her creative journey. Saturday, January 18, 2014. And it just keeps coming. I have spent hours in the studio the past couple of days. I am feeling so much more contented. But then, I also made a magical decision. I can let go of past hurts and quit mourning for a childhood that I didn't have. Gee whiz, it sure takes me a while, sometimes! So, yesterday it was more 4 x 4's and then more today along with a 12x12" piece that I need to photograph. Then today the following got done:. And it j...

Martha's Studio: May 2007

http://marthasstudio.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

I love fabric and thread, and I never feel that I have enough of either. I make altar hangings and clerical vestments, and smaller more light-hearted pieces for secular spaces. Thursday, May 31, 2007. The new Quilting Arts Magazine came the other day. Jane Dunnewold has an interesting article in it about the positive/negative exercises called Notan. So I decided to try it, and this is what I came up with:. Now I wish I had taken it. Tuesday, May 29, 2007. Here is the most recent weekly:. It's Memorial Da...

I love fabric and thread, and I never feel that I have enough of either. I make altar hangings and clerical vestments, and smaller more light-hearted pieces for secular spaces. Thursday, June 14, 2007. I'm supposed to be packing for QSDS. But instead I thought I'd show you what my sister, Nancy, has been up to. I have been painting fabric and generally messing around in the wet studio, so not a lot to show for myself. But not my sister! Here are the detail shots. First, a side view:. I visited your websi...

I love fabric and thread, and I never feel that I have enough of either. I make altar hangings and clerical vestments, and smaller more light-hearted pieces for secular spaces. Thursday, January 25, 2007. This is number 17. I don't date them other than the year, so I can only estimate that they were done in December when I was working on the larger pieces in this color scheme, which are on display at the Slayton House Gallery. I'm a couple of weeks behind, as usual, and this week I've moved into a differ...

Martha's Studio: October 2006

http://marthasstudio.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html

I love fabric and thread, and I never feel that I have enough of either. I make altar hangings and clerical vestments, and smaller more light-hearted pieces for secular spaces. Thursday, October 26, 2006. Yesterday, I made another small (8" x 10") piece with trees. These trees were free-motion embroidered on a light weight fabric, and then cut away using an exacto tool. Finally, I stitched them to the background. Tuesday, October 24, 2006. Sunday, October 08, 2006. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Inspiration...

I love fabric and thread, and I never feel that I have enough of either. I make altar hangings and clerical vestments, and smaller more light-hearted pieces for secular spaces. Thursday, March 06, 2008. So I came home all jazzed up and ready to work. I painted 10 pieces of fabric when I got back, but they are still curing so I can't show photos of them. Instead, here is a piece I did recently:. It certainly does feel like I'm looking through windows when looking at this piece. View my complete profile.

Friday, December 29, 2006. I've spent the last few days in the studio, and I've been pretty productive. I finished 2 pieces which were tops, finally, so that they can be juried for a group show next month. I'm pleased with it. I did 3 this week, all of them trees. I'll post the others another day. I love fabric and thread, and I never feel that I have enough of either. I make altar hangings and clerical vestments, and smaller more light-hearted pieces for secular spaces. Sunday, July 01, 2007. I'm not sure if this is wretched excess or not, but it's cool. My husband got this at a business meeting the other day. You might think it's just a travel mug, but you'd be wrong. It's a travel mug that plugs into the cigarette lighter power source in the car! So your coffee will stay warm while you drive!

I love fabric and thread, and I never feel that I have enough of either. I make altar hangings and clerical vestments, and smaller more light-hearted pieces for secular spaces. Monday, June 04, 2007. Over the weekend, I went to the ArtExpo! The other class I took was pastel drawing. I'm really interested in pastels, so this was lots of fun. My end result is nothing to write home about (or blog about, either! But I learned a lot. I also spent a lot. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Or How to sell when ...

[insert clever phrase here]

Insert clever phrase here]. Thursday, 4 April 2013. Starbucks is apparently good for something. I was doing uni research, and read this article by the guy who first coined the term 'disruptive innovation', Clayton Christenson. He wrote this in an article called "Disruptive Innovation" from the journal Leadership Excellence. 2007), and I thought it was interesting:. Then you look at the demographics, etc, what people use it for. He's right. They don't just go there for food. Not really planning to write a...
