I could never live in Bend…. We are going to Haiti! Remember the days when you spent months anticipating the end of school? Your count down started after Christmas Break and you knew the exact numbers of days, hours and minutes until that last bell rang. It marked freedom from business, homework, stress and school for 3. whole. months. Then two days later you are bored…. This summer looks like weddings and baby showers, planning a trip to Haiti, moving out of my apartment, house sitting, moving to another state, family vacations etc.

Ruth Barton, Sacred Rhythms. This Easter was so different than any others. I woke up like any Sunday morning and went on my run. It took me past several churches (it’s the South. You can’t go too far with out going past a church) welcoming the sun rise somewhere behind the fog and mist seeping into every pore of this sleepy town. I made cinnamon rolls. They ended up more like cinnamon roll cake as they rose up and sprawled out, filling every corner of my much-too-large baking pan. Yup Flat as a pancake.

Dreaming of becoming an Ironman, 8 months of training my ass off for it, and on Sunday August 7th, 2016 at approximately 7:30pm, I heard Mike Reilly, the voice of Ironman, announce those words directly to me as I crossed the finish line followed by “for the rest of your life!
