the running wave: Open Studio
http://therunningwave.blogspot.com/2015/08/open-studio.html
Monday, 3 August 2015. Way back, at the beginning of May, we were told about Pauline Burbidge and Charlie Poulsen's Open Studio weekend at Allanbank Mill Steading, in the Borders. The first weekend of every August, for the last twenty two years, these two artists have been opening their steading home and studios to the public. We were free to roam anywhere and everywhere, throughout the steading, into every building, each being an exhibition space. I loved her studio, with bits of work in progress. Even ...

meabh warburton: greens and yellows
http://meabhwarburton.blogspot.com/2014/03/greens-and-yellows.html
Tuesday, March 4, 2014. It is cold and windy and rainy here - ugh. BUT amidst all the grey, brown and muddy tones there is colour when you look for it. Moss is miraculous here - there is a stand of trees not far away which is almost completely covered in moss. They look as if they've been flocked! Lots of beautiful lichens too. Clean air you see. Am making greeny, yellowy collages at the moment. Is my latest little enterprise - please have a browse! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A brown paper parcel.

http://meabhwarburton.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 19, 2014. The relationship isn't intentional! My show with Colette Bessac-Lefranc is at the end of July - not much time left. I'm also teaching a two day tapestry workshop on the 9th and 10 of July if anyone (or anyone you know) is interested. The fee is €200 to include all materials and all the money goes to the tower. Details of this and all the other workshops being offered this summer are on the tower website. On the 'stages' page. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A brown paper parcel.

meabh warburton: October 2013
http://meabhwarburton.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 11, 2013. Oh la la la la la la. Anyone who lives in France will know that oh la la is an expression more likely to be used as an equivalent to the English 'Oh noooooo' or 'Oh for goodness sake' than in the saucy seaside postcard way! The more las there are the worse it is! So after a test shrinkage strip I'm starting again but with a bit less enthusiasm than the first time around. I've been to Amsterdam but it was such a long time ago and I barely remember it. Wednesday, October 2, 2013.

meabh warburton: February 2014
http://meabhwarburton.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 13, 2014. I took some slides to the photo shop to have them digitized today. A catalogue is being done for both Colette and me for our Summer show and I suddenly remembered my big thick file of slides. Slides - remember them? It's odd to see old work again or rather to see it clearly and bigger. The cup tapestry above was the very first piece I sold through a gallery - it was Roger Bilcliffe Fine Art in Glasgow and must have been around 1994 or 5. Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Galerie l...

http://meabhwarburton.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 24, 2013. This tapestry was a nice surprise in my inbox this week. I taught Naomi to weave when she was about 13 or 14 and although life has taken her in other directions she still finds the time and inclination to make tapestries now and then. The cost is 200€ with all the proceeds going to the Tour. You can find a list of other workshops on offer here. Monday, May 13, 2013. Ceramics by jean-pierre chollet. Painting by jean-pierre gilly. Carved wooden reliefs by Kathryn O'Kell. Alongside the...

meabh warburton: December 2013
http://meabhwarburton.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 23, 2013. Happy Christmas and all the very best in 2014! Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Ring the bells that still can ring. I've just written a text for the catalogue of my show next year (nearly this year.). Now all I have to do is translate it into French! I was planning on being an archaeologist. I even had a place at university. Then one evening I saw a television programme about a craft school in Thomastown, Kilkenny. I love the circle, the ring, the dot. I love the symbolism of ...
