How It All Began | French Rambles
https://frenchrambles.wordpress.com/how-it-all-began
My love affair with France. How It All Began. How It All Began. My love affair with France began aged 13 when my dad took my brothers and I camping in Brittany. After much pressure and cajoling he agreed to take us to Paris…ok he loved Paris too so I probably didn’t have to push him too hard, but I fell in love with France on that trip. But then we relocated to Western Australia and my French travel came to a halt. Travel to Europe was just too expensive. Then when my marriage broke down 6 years ...Addre...

Le Lapin Agile | French Rambles
https://frenchrambles.wordpress.com/2014/05/12/an-evening-of-song
My love affair with France. How It All Began. Monday, 12 May 2014. During a stroll around Montmartre I came across this curious house on the corner of Rue des Saules and Rue St Vincent facing Le Clos de Montmartre Vineyard. With its rickety wooden fence and salmon-pink walls the building looked more like a country cottage than a building in the centre of Paris. But my curiosity was piqued so I checked out the sign on a wall to one side. The plaque on the outside wall tells the story of the Lapin Agile.

I also write romance stories under the pen name Victoria Honeywood. www.victoriahoneywood.com. Monday, 12 May 2014. To my surprise, and delight, I discovered this was an historic cabaret –“chansons et poesie” it promised. The plaque on the outside wall tells the story of the Lapin Agile.

The Engagement by Chloe Hooper | Reading Sheilas
https://readingsheilas.wordpress.com/2015/01/16/the-engagement-by-chloe-hooper
Australian Women's Writing. January 16, 2015. The Engagement by Chloe Hooper. My rating: 2 of 5 stars. What a strange book; I really have no idea what to make of it. 8211;has a vaguely-defined mental illness that is expressed through violence and manipulation. The audio book was read well by Jane Nolan, if with some often-distracting long vowels. View all my reviews. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Le Lapin Agile - French Rambles
http://www.frenchrambles.com/an-evening-of-song
A Country Cottage or a Cabaret? During a stroll around Montmartre I came across a curious house on the corner of Rue des Saules and Rue St Vincent facing Le Clos de Montmartre Vineyard. From the outside the Lapin Agile looks more like a country cottage than the venue for a Parisian cabaret. The Thieves Meeting Place. Around 1875 caricaturist, Andre Gill, painted a sign with a rabbit leaping out of a saucepan which was hung on the side of the building. The place became known as Le Lapin à Gill (Gill&#...

My love affair with France. How It All Began. Lunch on the Train. Sunday, 8 December 2013. Recently I was in London catching up with an an old Australian friend over dinner when I mentioned I would soon be in Paris. 8220;Oh you must dine at the Le Train Bleu,” he said flicking through his mobile phone to show me images from when he treated his mother to lunch there. But I dutifully put it on the list of “things to do in Paris. The Gare de Lyon, Paris. I know I enjoyed the food, but to be honest I donR...
