Monday, 3 February 2014. Assignment 5: Final Reflections On A Creative Approach. Stupidly, when I sent my tutor the note with my reasons for starting this course and what I wanted to achieve, I didn't keep a copy for myself. That was typical of my organisation when I began, well over two years ago, and comparing my early rambling blog entries, I'm relieved that my focus has improved. Reliant on my blog. It. Lizzy's Learning Blog: November 2011

http://lizzyslearningblog.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Friday, 4 November 2011. Project 1 Review - Making Marks. Have you ever thought about drawing in this way before? Yes, I've done these exercises before but as the course material suggested, I used this project as an opportunity to generate new ideas. After reading Gwen Hedley's book 'Drawn to Stitch' on holiday, there were a few things I really wanted to try, like tea bags, insides of envelopes and using pins to make holes in paper. The windows also make useful frames for isolating areas of drawings.

We'll be looking forward to seeing them displayed at the Lawrence Batley Theatre this weekend as part of the. HOST Artists Open Studio Trail. Gemma and Louisa's Blood Bag. Wednesday, 30 January 2013. Assignment 2 - Design and Print A Sample Review. Do you feel you made a good selection from your drawings to use as source material for your design ideas? Which interpretations worked best and why? Which fabrics did you choose? What particular qualities appealed to you? Is the scale of marks and shapes on your samples appropriate to the fabric? Would any of your ideas work better on a different type of fabric - for example, sheer, textured, heavyweight? Do you like the design?

Lizzy's Learning Blog: June 2012

http://lizzyslearningblog.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, 23 June 2012. Degree Shows, Presentation Thoughts and Lots of Links. On Tuesday I visited Huddersfield University Textile Degree Show and today the Bradford School of Arts & Media Summer Show. Going into Bradford, of course I had to stop by Texere Yarns. Where I picked up various interesting bits and pieces that caught my eye, not all of which I can identify, let alone know what to do with. I overspent on books again - one called Machine Embroidered Seascapes. Latest addition to my collection.

This time I will try another sample of colour analysis from a photograph. I tend to work intuitively rather than by analysis of the concepts of colour and techniques other than collage. This time I will try another sample of colour analysis from a photograph. Water colours have a serenity about them when being applied which helps me to develop a fairly standard format as suggested in the lessons but I want to vary my way of analysing colour perhaps by trying a drawing/sketch and using a variety of materials and fibres.
