The village of Coed-y-Paen and the immediately surrounding area is covered by two Community Councils: Llangybi Fawr and Llanbadoc. The majority of the village is represented by Llangybi Fawr Community Council, which covers the villages of Llangybi and Llandegfedd as well as Coed-y-Paen. Llandegfedd Circular Trail Open for Walkers. The long awaited trail around the res. finally opened on 1st April with an ‘inauguaral’. Walk Llanbadoc CC are to be congratulated for their work with Dwr Cymru and Mon. CC, to develop the path on the eastern side, so that it meets up with the existing public footpaths and roads on the north and west. They have produced a guide to the trail, including info about the flora and fauna you may see. It will be available on their website.

Coed-y-Paen benefits from having a terrific pub, The Carpenters Arms. And the nearby Llangegfedd Reservoir. Which is soon to reopen with a new Visitor Centre and watersports facility. There are many public footpaths in the area and Llanbadoc Community Council has published guides to some of these on its website. There are no upcoming events at this time.
