My Thoughts Exactly: Healing Your Broken Heart - Guest Post
http://thoseweremythoughtsexactly.blogspot.com/2013/03/healing-your-broken-heart-guest-post.html
An assembling of quotes, verses, inspirations, poems, books, author interviews and my thoughts. Monday, March 25, 2013. Healing Your Broken Heart - Guest Post. Posted this and I just think it is a wonderful example of God's love for us. Used with permission. When I was 12 years old, some college kids came to our church. They did a skit and I never will forget it. They did it as mimes. And it was a girl with her heart. She carried it around and was so careful. March 26, 2013 at 1:16 AM. I am interested in...

My story of making sense of it all: Updates - life changes
http://teachniu.blogspot.com/2013/01/updates-life-changes.html
My story of making sense of it all. Monday, January 21, 2013. Updates - life changes. So much has happened since my last blog - so much to catch up on! Home - our little girl has joined the family! A week early no less! Both of my boys are very taken with their little sister and dote on her every sound and movement. It is so sweet to watch. I have to say we had many concerns for Nathan between the sounds and the obvious change in routines, however he's shown us we had nothing to fear! Pages of the Mind.

My Thoughts Exactly: April 2014
http://thoseweremythoughtsexactly.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
An assembling of quotes, verses, inspirations, poems, books, author interviews and my thoughts. Friday, April 11, 2014. Five Minute Friday - Paint. I haven't done this in a while. I think my last one was in November! Every Friday Lisa-Jo Baker invites women (men, too, I guess) over to her blog to get a word prompt. Simply start a new blog post and write for five minutes on that topic. It's that simple! Although, it's not always easy. Today's Five Minute Friday word is Paint. Say you have a room that's pa...

My Thoughts Exactly: Go Pro
http://thoseweremythoughtsexactly.blogspot.com/2015/05/go-pro.html
An assembling of quotes, verses, inspirations, poems, books, author interviews and my thoughts. Sunday, May 31, 2015. I just finished reading Go Pro. This is a relatively short, easy to understand guide to becoming a network marketing professional. Usually I don't read "help books", but I had to read this for a class. I actually really enjoyed it! So much so that I will read it again and again in the future. Eric provides so many great, simple tips that really. Is thinking about starting. 13 Things I Fou...

https://saratoolemiller.wordpress.com/2012/01/10/why-do-you-write-in-six-words-or-less
Why do you write…in six words or less? By Sara Toole Miller on January 10, 2012. Asked readers to write a memoir in six words or less. Based this experiment on an old story. Supposedly Ernest Hemingway was asked to write a full story in six words or less. His response:. For Sale: baby shoes, never worn. Smith magazine took a page from Hemingway and has since published a book filled with six-word memoirs such as:. Fifteen years since last professional haircut – writer, Dave Eggers. 8221; I’m sure we...

Lavender Blue Days: Empathy, Part 2
http://valandshawn.blogspot.com/2010/05/empathy-part-2.html
Empathy, Part 2. Thursday, May 20, 2010. So I'm still thinking a lot about empathy with the kids and trying to put it into practice every day. I'm also thinking about how I can do a better job of empathizing with people outside of my family. It turns out that I am not very good at this! I'm going to say that I think love is more than a verb. I think love is a deep, strong, lasting connection with someone that spurs us into action. I don't really think that we can skip the connection part and go s...Wow I...

Lavender Blue Days: Girly-ness and Princesses
http://valandshawn.blogspot.com/2010/08/girliness-and-princesses.html
Tuesday, August 10, 2010. You have to check out this excerpt from the book Bittersweet, written by Shauna Niequist. She brings up her friends who have a baby girl and have declared their house a "princess free zone." This made me laugh a little- because I hate princesses so much. So- what are your thoughts on princesses? Or, what does being a princess mean to you? Does it have positive or negative connotations? 7 Response to "Girly-ness and Princesses". August 10, 2010 at 5:46 PM. Its teaching materialis...

Lavender Blue Days: January 2009
http://valandshawn.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2009. Kendra mentioned that she loves to hear Lucy stories, So I thought I would tell today's Lucy story. (Well, one of them, anyway.). I really don't know anything about furnaces, but apparently ours has an on/off switch right on it. Lucy found this out when she was helping Shawn change the furnace filter a few days ago. I guess you can probably tell where this is going. Sometime after supper last night, Lucy turned the furnace off! They serve us lunch, and someone said, "Okay! Total...

Lavender Blue Days: September 2008
http://valandshawn.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 17, 2008. So- I'm keeping a tally of how much Shawn works this week. The way I calculate it is hours away from home- so that does include several hours of driving. Monday: 6:00am-6:00pm (12 hours). Wednesday: 7:00am-7:00pm (12 hours). Thursday: 12:00pm-8:00pm (8 hours) We had a nice morning this day. Friday: 6:30am-6:30pm (12 hours). 635 hours, and he's taking Saturday off, so I'm excited about that! Maybe that's actually the worst part- that we're doing so well without him. Whoa, th...

Lavender Blue Days: November 2008
http://valandshawn.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Advertisement for big deal. Saturday, November 22, 2008. It appears that Dec. 12 is the day. Probably going to be moving then. It's a Friday. Might do more moving on Saturday than Friday, not sure yet. You know what's super weird? The seller and my mortgage guy and the realtors picked a closing date without asking me! I mean, they picked an okay day, but I think that's really weird and am a little offended! Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Get ready for moving fun! Too bad we only have small couches. So- if a...
