Being unable AND unwilling to imagine what we might want in the future is such a limitation. Youth culture especially promotes this idea of living for today and giving no thought for tomorrow. In doing so, I think we have cheated ourselves. What does a mature and sensible person look like? For sure, the answer is not in popular media or society.

Apr 1st, 2014 at 9:55 PM. A group of librarians in my district and I are doing a book study on the book, Its Complicated. By Danah Boyd. The book is about how teens use the internet. Were still in the early chapters, but one thing that Ive already gotten out of this, is that I really dont like Facebook. I never have. On the other hand, I cant give up Facebook because thats where most of my family hangs out and where they post super adorable pics of my nieces and nephews. Maybe more than you think?
