Letters from the idiot. Notes, quotes and articles to form a commonplace blog. Wednesday, August 20, 2003. Actually, that's not true,. I do know why I've done this. I used to have a site at online.ie (called Cork-Host) but something went very wrong one day, and among the items lost was my ability to update the site without going in to the office. Since I'm in Cork and the office is in Dublin, there was a little problem (about 200 miles of problem), so here I am. 1) It's easier to update and. Peoples Repu...

Letters from the idiot. Notes, quotes and articles to form a commonplace blog. Thursday, July 29, 2004. Francis Crick, RIP. The wilkipedia entry of the man is to my mind, better than any obit. Just in case you don't know who he is, in 1959, along with James Watson, he figured out the double helix structure of DNA and was able to start unraveling it's secrets. Rest in peace,. Posted by cork-host at 5:28 pm. Links to this post. Good evening, today will be about US politics. Is a very good book. Apparen...

Letters from the idiot. Notes, quotes and articles to form a commonplace blog. Tuesday, June 29, 2004. The White House's Irish ire. Good morning messers Follman. I thought it might be a good idea to inform "rivals" at the same time about something which seems to have slipped unseen n the US. Article about the complaints. Official transcript of the interview. One question I have is how fawning are the US presidential interviews? As EU political interviews this was fairly soft! Links to this post. I have t...

Letters from the idiot. Notes, quotes and articles to form a commonplace blog. Tuesday, August 31, 2004. I've done the 400 miles. I'll get around to putting up the days events in order (which is hard since the days tended to merge apart. it feels like I've been away for a month! Yesterday was a "rest" day. A lot of sitting down and pottering. Just as well I was away from work sinc eht ephrase "hard of thinking" could have applied all too well. Stumped up another 10,000 for the Marie Keating Foundation.

The Twelve STI's of Christmas is a reworking of the Twelve Days of Christmas, written by the UK's Department of Health to raise awareness of the risk of catching sexually transmitted infections. Letters from the idiot. Notes, quotes and articles to form a commonplace blog. Friday, April 30, 2004. I've just done something I've not tried to do since the last film festival. With the Film Festival (the 2004 site doesn't have listing yet, so I'm not linking to it), you have a schedule for the week, and you pick what you think you would like, or take pot luck. This long weekend, I'm trying something similar with CorkGigs.com. And the guide for the "day of welcomes". In Cyprus Avenue, but I think it's ...

Letters from the idiot. Notes, quotes and articles to form a commonplace blog. Sunday, February 29, 2004. A full weekend - Sunday. A full weekend - Sunday. Every so often fate conspires to make you meet friends that you haven't seen for ages. I met a friend that I hadn't seen for over a year at the gig on Thursday, and I dumped in to a mutual friend on Sunday. There I was, walking along Patrick's Street minding my own business, when "You? You see, Goldbloom couldn't resist the opportunity to dress up....

However I can tell buzz about a boy. I certainly see Oscar as having a legitimate shot at qualifying," said American sprinter Brian Frasure, speaking of 17-year-old Oscar Pistorius. Marlowe Hood asked if an athlete with a prosthetic leg could compete in the Games. Posted by cork-host at 8:56 am. I know its a l...
