My painting style is illustrative. Words and phrases that capture my attention are the creative inspiration for my paintings. My medium is acrylic paint on canvas, paper, and recently wood board. Being creative has always been an important part of my life. After high school I tried a variety of careers in the business world. I’m not going to tell you that I started drawing in grade 3 and for a school project I drew Michelangelo’s statue of David and added a fig leaf to his groin. I’m also not going to tell you that I studied Academic painting and drawing in Florence, Italy. I also won't tell you that I have received grants, won awards, am represented in galleries and hang in collections worldwide. After a long career as a professional dancer and teacher, I am returning to a childhood love of art. I have always expressed myself best through forms of non-verbal communication. As both a dancer and an artist I love the movement and texture of line, the emotion of colour, and the challenge of trying to impart the feeling of what can’t be said in words.
