Wednesday, August 26, 2009. This is one of the most prominent areas of the city. The addition of the Greektown Casino in 2000 helped keep the district one of the tourist hot spots in the city. Thursday, October 15, 2009. This baseball diamond is tucked away in a neighborhood in the city of Hamtramck. The diamond itself has a look and feel that is unique to it's location. Monday, August 24, 2009. This is downtown Detroit. I must say that since 2000 the district has gone through a number of improvements including 2 new stadiums and the addition of the Compuware building. The area is rich with historic architecture and has a unique feel that is missing in other cities. After all, the city was founded in 1701 and was commonly referred to as the Paris of the Midwest because of the French influence and once booming economy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
