Made the Cover! – Nikki's Studio

Skip to Main Content. I was blown away when I spotted one of my 2 crochet designs for the Interweave Crochet Fall 2014 issue on the cover of the magazine! I’ve been crocheting just as long as I’ve been knitting (30 years) but only recently have I started to submit crochet designs for publication. I had a lot of fun mixing up different crochet stitches for some fancy looking horizontal stripes. Love that they look complicated but are actually pretty straight forward to crochet. Fibery Fun for Playful People. Thursday, May 16, 2013. Been a while since I posted for Thing I Made Thursday. Here's a special edition to make up for it. :-). This is a pic of my very first "all by myself" pattern. Yes, really. I just made it up. It's fresh off the needles; you can see a bit of yarn at the collar that needs weaving in, and it's in desperate need of blocking, but. I made that! And it actually fits! This year. She's great at helping pick out colorways. The spindle may look familiar. To tho...

Skip to Main Content. Wonderful “Thank You” Mail. Posted in: Fan Mail. A couple of weeks ago I received an email from one of my blog readers who was in search of some yarn to complete a project. As it turns out, the yarn was no longer available in the weight she used but she had spotted me using it for a leaf in my Apple Fruit Cozy. And was wondering if I still had some left and would be willing to part with it. Absolutely! Outside of Seattle, Washington, before I could go stash diving. Judy not only too...

Chicken Scratch: The Fool On the Hill
http://homesteadcs.blogspot.com/2014/06/the-fool-on-hill.html
Monday, June 9, 2014. The Fool On the Hill. The "tweaking" of the homestead continues here at Chicken Scratch. I continue to work to find ways to get it to run more efficiently and effectively. It has been quite a challenge. First, the "babies" have been disbudded. I HATE. Disbudding, I think it's a horrible practice. However, I understand why we do it, as I've pulled quite a few goats' heads out of the fence in my time, and often they're not just stuck, they are woven. But he was totally playing me.
