Escape from The City. Winter at the Ranch. Located at 5,200 feet in the mountains north of Los Angeles, Lockwood’s Ranch is located in the valley between Mt. Pinos, Frazier Mountain and San Guillermo Mountain. The wintertime temps can get REALLY cold here – as in single digits cold! Heavy snowfalls have been recorded in the past but in recent drought years, the normal seems to be between 4″ – 12″ and lots of snow flurries that melt away in the daytime sunshine.
