Stuff like Log Cabins, Kayaking, books, family and my attempts at the art world. Sherlock Holmes Society of St Charles. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Latest project. . . Getting dad old film editor working. We have several old family films I want to get record in a more modern way, and would like to do it myself. Or at least see if I can do it. steak and ale pie
http://eating-for-england.com/steak-and-ale-pie
Steak and ale pie. February 28, 2011. This is a British pub classic and a brilliant winter warmer that you’ve got to try…tonight. When Dan and I were still just boyfriend and girlfriend he used to visit me in Sheffield, in the north of England where I was at university while he was studying abroad in Spain. Heady days, I tell you what. Anyway, back to pubs and pie. Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn. The biggest thing with these kind of pies is getting the pastry/meat ratio right. Next time I try it I think...

Flitney Family Blog: Perfectly suited
http://flitneyfamily.blogspot.com/2014/09/perfectly-suited.html
Sunday, 14 September 2014. The very first post on this blog - A wreath of orange blossoms. Raised an interesting question. I was asked if the pink and blue two-piece worn by mum (Rene Flitney) was an all over floral pattern, or a blue suit with a pink blouse. I’m not sure I can properly answer that as there are no photographs (as far as I know), but I thought it would be fun to try. Mum and dad were married in 1938 when, according to the University of Brighton. According to the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Monday, 23 February 2015. Guest Post – My Sister Remembers – Part Eight. Left to right; Marian, Pat Wood holding Simon and Hartie Wood. The outside of the house has changed little over the years other than half the front garden has been taken for parking and the thatch that was old and black has been replaced. It is now a modern detached house with running water and bathrooms, how I wish I could afford to buy it, but at least I can say, “I lived there”. The house as it looks now. Sue, Bob and Jackie.

Thursday, 20 August 2015. Eating at the top of The Tower. London's Post Office tower was considered the height of luxury back in the 60s. The Revolving restaurant was hailed as "The Most Unique Restaurant in Great Britain" although looking at the photographs now it is not quite as glamorous as my memory would have me believe so perhaps I'm not a million miles away from the brief. Tuesday, 20 January 2015. Sepia Saturday 263 : Old adverts, horses, carts and strange products. As a collector of and dealer (now retired) in vintage children’s books and ephemera I assumed this would be an easy challenge. Wrong! I found lots of old adverts but few that filled the brief, hence I've gone with the best I could find. The Band of Hope Annual. The image is not signed, but I suspect it could be by G. E. Studdy as the dog looks very much like Bonzo. William Hill (Park Lane) Ltd. 20 January 2015...
