Thursday, December 30, 2010. Down-marketing ‘30’? As millions of young men and women around the world approach the ominous age of thirty each year, they suddenly find themselves being surrounded by companies claiming strange things. While one claims that you need an age miracle another says it can reverse the seven signs of ageing for you, so you’ll be ready to rule the world again! But what is it with 30 that causes depression? As per the ‘psychiatrists’, 30 seems to be an age where people h...I was kin...

Sunday, September 5, 2010. At thousands of feet above the ground, there's not much you can do if you haven't penned your flight hours in your 'to-do list' already or are bored checking out the flight attendants (being your nth flight) unless you belong to the clan for whom sleeping is a 'favorite hobby'! Turns out that if you are a potential insomniac, there couldn't be a better place than this flying gadget to unclutter your mind, heart and soul. Well, I decided to try the same. Amused, I opened my eyes...

Monday, April 18, 2011. Where there is a will . there is embarrassment :O. Where there’s a will there is a way. One of the earliest phrases we learnt in school. But over the last few years and more than few experiences, I’ve come to realize that where there is will, there is embarrassment and a lot of it, trust me! Form with origins from Cuba as a major original American meeting point of European and African cultures…. thank God. 8216;ladies, remember the five seconds rule; when the music stops, you have...

Thursday, June 30, 2011. I see no more than silhouettes of bamboo trees from the window. As the yellow bulb inside, peers at every object to cast a shadow. A side-table figurine offers to engage me in a small conversation. To end the long hours of silence between me and all my obsessions. As i sit in a vortex of choices, trying to breathe in some 'free' air. My fears and my doubts begin to reveal themselves slowly, in layers. Like a jackpot winner i brood over my new found wealth at length. Days are spen...

Wednesday, October 6, 2010. Each one, employ one! Last week, I had an overdose of motivational, inspirational and other ‘…ational’ books. And the result was a whirring, stirring and other ‘…irring ‘cerebral concoction, topped with ifs, buts and may beees. Something so elementary that the working class, at present focusing on IT/MBA, has constantly refrained from turning their thoughts towards it. But is it actually so? Result, they kept chasing numbers throughout school. Reeling under the same inerti...

Thursday, November 3, 2011. You try to loosen the radial while I'll try to raise the car up'. I had never imagined that my first lessons on how to change a punctured tyre would be on NH-66 at 2330 hours. The drive from Pondichery to Bangalore was proving more adventurous than we had together imagined. We turned right much to the dismay of our navigator who kept telling us to take a U-turn. A right turn followed by another right turn through the sea of traffic and we entered a deserted open space....We to...

Monday, March 19, 2012. But two more weeks and I found my opinion hinting towards an interesting species; the auto-drivers. Almost every third conversation with them ends up in a spat. No matter how close or far you want to go, you have to give them 'extraaA'. ' Meters are for the morons. Seem to be their mantra. “Do not agree with the fare? No problem. Go find another one.”. While I was thinking this, I wondered, 'But what about the trees'? Was it not what the city was known for? I looked out of my auto...

Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Julley' - My experience in/with Ladakh. Miles and miles of ruminant tranquility and hours together of rutilant snow. Ensconced among esoteric peaks lies an alembic land not many still know. Each young pebble on its riverbed is a passage from a picturesque poetry. Each old grain of sand raised by the byrr, bows before its rugged ancestry. Every night an inky cover, conjures up a million charms from far and wide. Adorned by austere ferns and flowers, numinous streams pleached to one.

Thursday, October 27, 2011. Waking up in the clouds. I curled up a little more to myself, eyes closed, hoping to finish the last dream. When a whiff of moist air sneaked into my sleeping bag through an open seam. It ruffled my hair and kissed my cheeks while nuzzling my nose pink and cold. Then swirling into my ears it hushed, 'hey! Wake up, to what is about to unfold'. Uh no', i complained, pulling over the blanket, 'let me finish my dream atleast'. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There ...
