A bit of nonsense

A bit of nonsense. Tuesday, May 26, 2009. My life is full of marvelous things that I have done. For instance, the crowning achievement today: eggs,. And they did NOT stick to the pan. Hold your applause. Although today is shaping up to be a real barn burner in the arena of accomplishments, I have been trying to step up my life a little and get some more things actually done. Being qualified for the job. I did the dishes last night. All of them. The biggest of all? Monday, May 18, 2009. It was a blast!

I had my interview for the position in DC yesterday morning. It went extremely well and I was offered a job. I took it. Now All this left to do is to:. Graduate in August (easy). Pay off almost everything I can (difficult). Stash away about 1000 bucks for my first month in Germany (impossible? Ok I need food. Saturday, May 5, 2007.

A bit of nonsense: September 2007

http://www.logicallyscatterbrained.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html

A bit of nonsense. Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Munich, the Klamm, and other freakishly cool shindiggs. This posting is dusted with photos from a few of my recent excursions - enjoy! Tangent: This is a look at what I see as I walk/ride to work every day:. I love going to work these days. The Gorge was impressive. And the hike was tiring. but certainly worthwile! Wednesday, September 5, 2007. For the past few days now it has been rainy in Garmisch, and the city is picturesque as ever. This morning I w...

A bit of nonsense. Sunday, March 25, 2007. Patrick Combs and Old Rag. Patrick Combs (you may have heard of him) is a normal person turned celeb. He cashed one of those get rich quick scheme checks that you get in the mail that have strings attached. Some how, he found some loophole and was able to keep the sum of 95,000 with no further obligation. I run across traffic, track him down, and drag him to the studio just in time to do the show. I receive many kudos from important people. During my break at wo...

A bit of nonsense: Travels, reflections, and what-not

http://www.logicallyscatterbrained.blogspot.com/2008/02/travels-reflections-and-what-not.html

A bit of nonsense. Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Travels, reflections, and what-not. Finally the motivation to make a new post has hit me. I Have been a bit lazy these days to be honest. Day 1: Upon arriving, my host Giannis, asked if I liked "what you would call soccer" and if I would like to play. For those of you who know even the slightest bit about me, this is all that needs to be said about day one: absolutely no better way to start off. nyukcubed: owen and newt, newt and owen

http://nyukcubed.blogspot.com/2009/04/owen-and-newt-newt-and-owen.html

Saturday, April 25, 2009. Owen and newt, newt and owen. You see these two guys? I think they look alike. The one on the right is Newt Gingrich. The man on the left is Owen Gingerich. Yep - he has an extra 'e' in his last name. The kids think we're crazy, anyway, so they paid no attention to us. But we do find out stuff. And now I'm wondering if, perhaps, Newt is related to my brother-in-law? We've known that Newt was born a McPherson- but we categorically deny any connection! Home based business reviews.

Monday, April 27, 2009. Spring has sprung, the grass is riz, and I know where some birdies is. A few weeks ago, some wrens built this nest in a discarded car trash can in our garage. For several days, the two birds flew out of the garage each morning as I raised the door to leave for work, and came back every evening. After a week or so, I noticed there were 4-5 little eggs in the nest. Over our cars. He leaves gifts for us. Should get really interesting when the eggs hatch. To be continued. View my comp...

http://nyukcubed.blogspot.com/2009/04/george-washington-slept-here.html

Wednesday, April 15, 2009. George Washington slept here. For a change, I wore my hair like this to work today:. As she walked past me in the hall (where I was doing my requisite hall duty between classes), one of my students said "Wow, Mrs. Lowe - from down the hall, I thought you were George Washington! Evidently, it doesn't pay to take hair risks in Stanardsville, VA. Oh, and just for giggles - who would have french braided my hair, if I were George? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://nyukcubed.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 19, 2008. On Santa hats and Hannukah garland. Today is the last day of school before the holiday break. Yesterday, during the morning announcements the head ptb proclaimed today as 'Santa Hat Day.' So there would be no confusion, the student video announcements did a little piece on what constitutes a santa hat and what didn't. Basically, they were making sure students understood that camo baseball caps did not qualify as santa hats. Wrong - so wrong. Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Wednesda...

Friday, December 04, 2009. Been a long time. Wow - just remembered tonight that I still had this blog! After school, I was waiting in the hall for the teacher who owned the hammer - wanting to give it back to her before it got lost on my desk. The head PTB came by, and the following conversation took place:. HPTB: Lookin' dangerous there, Lowe. Me: No worries - just used it to crack a geode today. I duck into my class to retrieve the geode to show him). HPTB: Very cool. I hope you used goggles. Click on ...

Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Teach your children well. Conversation between teacher (me) and 2 students today in Earth Science class:. Teacher: Who can remember the names of the moons of Mars? Student 1 (frantically waving hand): Fabio and Deimos! Teacher (trying not to pee pants): Not Fabio! He's the guy who got hit in the face by a goose on the roller coaster at Busch Gardens. Thursday, February 19, 2009. Overheard in the hall. The Catholics HATE the Amish. They, like, feud and shoot each other.". I didn't even know the Catholics knew the Amish. It creates such wonderful scenes in my mind - men in white collars and big hats chasing around after men in white shirts and big hats . Wait wait. oh.my.God. Friday, February 13, 2009. nyukcubed: Break -- out

http://nyukcubed.blogspot.com/2009/04/break-out.html

Sunday, April 12, 2009. Tomorrow is the last day of my Spring Break. A week ago, I had all sorts of plans and a 'To Do' list. Today, I can't even find the list. I always do this to myself - try to rearrange and reorganize my life in the space of 7-10 days. It never happens, don't know why I try. What did I accomplish? Oh, what the hell. 41 school days left. OK - I feel better about going back to work now. I can do 41 days standing on my head. After all, I've already done 139! Virginia, United States.

http://nyukcubed.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 10, 2008. Here's what it looks like in the back:. Not attractive. So - I'm getting a hair cut, in about 10 minutes. Insert Jeopardy Music here.). OK, I'm back. And here's the result:. It doesn't look too different in the front, but you can see from the back picture that I lost about 3 inches in length. This is just air-dried, no styling to speak of, other than finger combing. So, I guess I'm out of the 'grow my hair to my ass' phase. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Virginia, United States.
