Thursday, July 8, 2010. Thank you all for your ongoing prayers and thoughts. I feel them all very deeply and credit you with my relative peace and sense of humor. Today was the pre-op day and I now have wires implanted on my left breast (about the thickness of a strand of hair) that aren't painful but uncomfy. They will lead Dr. Castillo, the surgeon, to what remains of the tumor (much was taken during the first biopsy). Thank you God for this opportunity to deepen life and understanding. Peace Love H MS.

Is that the surgery is finished and according to pathology done at the time of surgery there was no lymph node involvement! Kirk and I are so very thankful for your words, prayers, positive thoughts, concern, cards sent our way. Tuesday, June 29, 2010. More GOOD NEWS, and some not-so-good-news—. Which do you want first? Ok, the good news is that the tumor is Stage 1 (very good), small (excellent), hormone positive (EXCELLENT), not well defined (not good, but hey, 3 out of 4 ain't bad). Meeting with surgeon is tomorrow (Wednesday June 30th) in the morning. I'm looking forward to finalizing the surgical plan and radiation schedule. Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Sorry, healing is not a very involving sort of thing to blog about. But here is what is happening now:. Tomorrow (Thursday) the surgeon implants a temporary radiation-delivery device into my breast (local anaesthesia) that looks like a combination hi-tech squid and a drink umbrella. They take out the device after the final treatment on Thursday the 29th. Then on the aftenoon of the 31st we go to the airport where we wing our way to Portland, OREGON. So, all is good!
