Lola Nova - Whatever Lola Wants

Tuesday, October 4, 2016. It is officially Autumn. School is in full swing, the weather has shifted and suddenly I'm in the mood to bake bread. Apologies to those who have left comments and questions in the last few months and have not received reply, it's been one crazy summer! It has also been an Instagram. The garden ran wild this year, with big harvests and the putting by. This one, this kid: She started Summer out in pigtails headed off to Forest Fishing Camp. So, what have you been up to? Well, tha...

Lola Nova - Whatever Lola Wants: Road Trip

http://lolanovablog.blogspot.com/2015/06/road-trip.html

Monday, June 15, 2015. The last month of school had me jumping and jiving with all the activities and meetings and so on. Haven't had much time for this happy place. And now we are getting ready to hit the road for a much anticipated vacation. The packing has started, lists have been made, camping gear double checked and we are buzzing with excitement. I'll be back soon with tales of our adventures! Until then, you can keep up with me over on Instagram under lolanova. Happy Summer my friends! Stories of ...

Lola Nova - Whatever Lola Wants: Back from the land of tall trees

http://lolanovablog.blogspot.com/2015/07/back-from-land-of-tall-trees.html

Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Back from the land of tall trees. Welcome to the photo show of our Summer Vacation. After a long vacation during which magical things were around every corner, it's hard to get back into the daily routine. We had an amazing trip, with only one little hiccup in the way of a breakdown on the hottest day of the year. Still, on the whole, there's nothing like a good road trip to inspire and feel free! Once we got back home, we took off again for some cabins in the woods next to a rive...

Lola Nova - Whatever Lola Wants: Salad Days

http://lolanovablog.blogspot.com/2015/05/salad-days.html

Friday, May 22, 2015. This last week has been dedicated to the garden. While we planted a lot of vegetables and eagerly await the Summer months to help them grow, but right now we are up to our elbows in lettuce. This is a good thing, fresh salad nearly every night is a very good thing. A barrel full of mint is close to the kitchen door. it smells so lovely. May 22, 2015 at 12:44 PM. You are amazing, our food frowning plans seem to have fizzed out to nothing this year. Sigh. May 22, 2015 at 11:51 PM.

Lola Nova - Whatever Lola Wants: The New Brood

http://lolanovablog.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-new-brood.html

Monday, May 18, 2015. Well, let's all cross our fingers that the sickness has left the building. I swear, this has been the ill-est school year in history, for the whole family. I am well and truly Over It! Ah, but let's talk of more pleasant things shall we? It occurred to me that you were not formerly introduced to the new Brood in the coop. Last November we lost our other beloved chooks to some vicious critter, so a couple of months ago we began again with 3 wee baby chicks. May 19, 2015 at 3:34 AM.

Lola Nova - Whatever Lola Wants: More Adventures in Natural Dyeing

http://lolanovablog.blogspot.com/2015/05/more-adventures-in-natural-dyeing.html

Monday, May 4, 2015. More Adventures in Natural Dyeing. Yes, I've been at it again, I just can't stop! The most amazing results and surprises have come about, a few disappointments as well, but that is all part of the learning process. I also tried dyeing with some Madder root and played with folding and clipping techniques. This is really fun and creates the most interesting designs. An experiment in over-dyeing created the loveliest green. I'm even dyeing embroidery floss and loving the results. I dont...

see liz at home: Bracelets

http://seelizathome.blogspot.com/2013/05/bracelets.html

See liz at home. Thoughts and lovely things to share. Thursday, 16 May 2013. I don't have so many bracelets but wished to have them on display in an appealing way. You know how sometimes you are about to bin something and you stare at it and wonder whether it could be recycled or kept and then think, don't be ridiculous, just bin it. Well, this idea came after staring at an empty roll of t-paper for a long time! With A5 printed card. Well, a good thing after all, don't you think? 21 May 2013 at 14:13.

http://braidcraft.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 20, 2010. This year we are trying to grow saffron. This a photo of our first crop. Its rapidly coming to the end of my favorite time of year Autumn. Cool crisp nights and warm days. Our fabulous tomato crop is at an end. It has been wonderful to have enough tomatoes to make into delicious preserves. Try my recipe for Tomato and Chilli Jam which makes a great condiment for adding flavour to curries and stir frys. Tomato and Chilli Jam. 2kg ripe tomatoes, peeled and seeded. 1 onion, chopped.

Braidwood Heritage Crafts: April 2013

http://braidcraft.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 12, 2013. An easy and delicious cake recipe. My favourite is made using frozen berries and low fat berry flavoured yoghurt. I like frozen 3 berry mix including blackberries, blueberries and raspberries when fresh berries are not in season. This cake works well without the sugar for diabetic diets. It can be sweetened with a smear of berry fruit spread. and for a bit of indulgence a dollop of cream. 1 cup (250 ml) fruit flavoured low fat yoghurt. berry or passionfruit. 1 T light rum. Lola Nova Upcycling

Refashioning, upcycling and revamping forgotten clothes into something beautiful. Retro Apron Tutorial: Refashion a Skirt into 50s Apron. Sunday, 21 December 2014. I've had this mini skirt for a while, I love the print of the fabric but sadly it's coming to the ends of it's lifespan. I wanted to try something a little experimental, and didn't mind sacrificing this skirt for the cause! My idea was to create a 50s retro apron tutorial,. With pockets and a sweetheart style neckline. 5 Hem all 4 edges of eac...
