On March 13, 2011. This is yet another gyaan-giving post. I just needed to collect my thoughts and clear my mind. So, don’t bother reading unless you enjoy listening to lonetwin baba 😉. Of our lives that most of us seem to suffer from. Those of us not in Japan at this moment still feel like our lives won’t drastically change in the next 24 hours. We believe, our homes, the people we love, the things we enjoy will still be around. Why? After all, what would life be without hope? There is the practical[1]...

On religion, relationships and mind hacks. On September 5, 2010. This is going to be personal, so if you know me in person. Also can tolerate the random gyaan I spew every once in a while, read on. If you don’t, I’m glad you are here but maybe (just maybe) you’d want to skip this one. This post is inspired by two posts by two people I know and is about two (slightly related) things I’ve been thinking about for sometime. The first one was this innocuous tweet. And "How did we get here? To which he replied:.

Peeking into the linux loader. On December 21, 2006. This post is as much as a tip as a demonstration on how beautifully simple it is to “look-neath-the-hood” when working with linux. This is the reason why linux programmers are happy programmers. Anyways, on with the details. If you have ever seen errors like …. Error while loading shared libraries: foo.so: cannot load shared object file: No such file or directory. That foo.so exists, or have see something like …. Libs display library search paths.

Passive Aggressive, who me ? | lonetwin.net
http://lonetwin.net/20100702/rants-and-randomness/passive-aggressive-who-me
Passive Aggressive, who me? On July 2, 2010. I like to think of my self as a peaceful composed person who doesn’t get rattled too easily. Yes, i do have my peeves and yes, I might not appear to be calm and composed all the time but people who know me, know that I don’t get angry too often. Mildly annoyed, irritated, frustrated and agitated at times …rarely in fact, but not furious. I felt angry today. Aggression. So, anyway, I looked it up:. Passive aggressive behaviour at wikipedia. Well, doesn’t ...

Tag Archives: crazy trip. Your computer will restart several times. On January 26, 2009. Ok, the fact that I have finally decided to finally (re)start[1] blogging, should possibly provide a hint about just how excited I am to speak about this. BTW, this post will make no sense whatsoever to anyone who has installed a windows OS in say the last 6 years (that was how long back I did my last windows install). Now, on to the post. So, anyways, I decide to do it — for the sheer trip! I’ve not see one of...

On professional motivation (or changing the world isn’t just for entrepreneurs). On July 16, 2012. I came across this post by Micah Baldwin. Via Hacker News and I could empathize with the content just a few lines in. Although, I am not an entrepreneur (by choice), I agree with the essence of the post that …. I’ve often wondered (and people have questioned me about this too) — why I do what I do? Why did I chose to work at the companies I did? This is why I worked at Red Hat …and at the UNFCCC. Which brin...

Bash command line editing for lazy, vim users. On August 22, 2008. Here’s a list of shortcuts I use frequently to make my time on the bash command line prompt a bit more efficient. Some disclaimers …. This is not a comprehensive list of shortcuts for bash. These are just the ones I find useful but have difficulty remembering sometimes due disuse (which causes muscle memory loss). Note: C = Ctrl, M = Meta (or Alt). Tab for command and filename completion. C-l to clear the screen. M-f to move a word forward.

Tag Archives: apple laptop tender. Macs for Me Lord? On October 6, 2009. I am happy. Not over-the-moon happy, at least not yet. Earlier last month, someone on the ILUGC mailing list posted news. About a government tender. Floated on behalf of the Supreme court of India, inviting authorized vendors to supply quotes for …get this — “supply and installation of Apple Laptops. For Supreme Court of India”. So, as expected, there was outrage expressed, on mailing lists[1], blogs[2] and a petition campaign.
