The Flying DiVincenzos: June 2011
http://flyingdivincenzos.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
All the world is a circus, overpopulated by clowns. Tuesday, June 14, 2011. All the romance you can stand. A friend asked me if I am a romantic. The honest answer is that I am rarely romantic, but very much enjoy romance - sort of. Romantic moments, movies and stories, yes please, but only to a certain point. Inspired by all this sap, I decided it was time to try creating the painting. I am so pleased with how it turned out! As with most crafts I attempt, if I keep it simple I succeed. Artists name their...

The Flying DiVincenzos: October 2012
http://flyingdivincenzos.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
All the world is a circus, overpopulated by clowns. Thursday, October 4, 2012. As we approach the holiday season, and I inevitably set out to work on more crafts than humanly possible, I wanted to set the record straight. No matter the season, when it comes to crafts, I always bite off more than I can chew. In my previous post, I described only one of my Summer Olympics-related craftiwork. In the 2008 Ravelypmics, I completed one event and failed to finish the other. Completed "Fraking Toaster Cozy".

The Flying DiVincenzos: February 2011
http://flyingdivincenzos.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
All the world is a circus, overpopulated by clowns. Saturday, February 26, 2011. I joined the A Team. I just accepted a job as a page designer at my paper. I'll be designing pages inside the A section of the newspaper, and I'll be learning how to do more design stuff later. I'll still work nights, but I'll have a Monday through Friday schedule. It's been four years since I've had a remotely normal work week. Thursday, February 24, 2011. I've got the fever. I could get some freezer paper and try using a b...

The Flying DiVincenzos: May 2011
http://flyingdivincenzos.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
All the world is a circus, overpopulated by clowns. Friday, May 20, 2011. Heat Stroke Evasion Part 5: Gateway To Organization. The big blue cabinet is not my favorite piece of furniture. Jack thought he would spice up this photo by standing on his hind legs. Mission accomplished. I've wanted to refinish it since the day I got it, but didn't have a vision for it. So it sat, big and blue, taking up space and holding a whole lot of junk. I'd still like to make the organization a little nicer with some prett...

The Flying DiVincenzos: Rising to the challenge
http://flyingdivincenzos.blogspot.com/2011/11/rising-to-challenge.html
All the world is a circus, overpopulated by clowns. Friday, November 25, 2011. Rising to the challenge. I have done it. I have made bread. This time without a recipe that can be perfected by children. I have ended my long struggle with bread failure.Under Thanksgiving pressure, no less. Look at how high this dough rose! The smell of these rolls coming out of the oven reminded my dad of his mom and grandma - both excellent bakers of bread and all other things. It nearly brought him to tears.

The Flying DiVincenzos: December 2011
http://flyingdivincenzos.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
All the world is a circus, overpopulated by clowns. Monday, December 26, 2011. It's Christmas. You know the drill. I started out without any inspiration at all for handmade Christmas presents. I was very happy with that situation. Nearly all the Christmas presents were purchased this year. I'm not sure if that's a good or sad thing. It did make for a less stressful holiday. I finished the Hermoine hat for Stina. I made a braided hex-nut bracelet for Laura. Monday, December 19, 2011. The copy desk may be ...

The Flying DiVincenzos: May the bridges I burn light the way
http://flyingdivincenzos.blogspot.com/2011/12/may-bridges-i-burn-light-way.html
All the world is a circus, overpopulated by clowns. Monday, December 19, 2011. May the bridges I burn light the way. I sat there listening to everyone suggest efficiency ideas for an hour. They all seemed to care, not just because it had to do with their jobs, but because they care about the product. The copy desk may be fewer in numbers, but that's not going to stop them from putting out the best damn paper every day. I respect that, and them, but I no longer share their interest. The situation is prett...
