There are many plots of state land for deer hunting near the cabin. Below, you will find links to public hunting land in both Presque Isle and Alpena. During duck hunting season, many launch their hunting boats on Long Lake and head towards the north end. The Alpena Sportsmen's Club offers both gun and archery ranges to sight in for deer season.
