Look at what's cookin. My adventure's in feeding my family. March 22, 2016. 8212; kariryerson @ 12:00 am. I had marked this recipe. From one of my favorite blogs a while ago. She adds a lot of great vegetables to her meals that many don’t. I always find her stuff to be very tasty and not terribly difficult to make. 1 tsp sweet paprika powder. 2 tbsp coarse mustard. 1/2 tsp curry powder. 1 cup beef broth. Cut about 1/2 inch off the bottom of the celeriac, cut the skin off and coarsely chop it. Strip a few...

Look at what's cookin. My adventure's in feeding my family. Honey Sriracha Beef August 12, 2015. 8212; kariryerson @ 12:00 am. So yes, this o riginal recipe. Calls for the meat to be on skewers but I had small backstrap steaks so I decided to leave them whole and marinate overnight. The meat came out great. There was a hint of heat but it wasn’t overpowering. 1 pound top sirloin beef, cut into 1-inch cubes. 3 tablespoons Sriracha hot sauce. 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil. 1 tablespoon soy sauce.

Ok so I didn’t really grill anything like this recipe. Called for. I steamed the fish over top of the rice and I charred the corn in a cast iron skillet. The flavors were great so I really enjoyed everything. 1/2 medium red onion, small dice (about 1 cup). 2 tablespoons plus 4 teaspoonsfreshly squeezed lime juice (from about 2 medium limes).

As a side dish to go with chicken. It is made to be served on lettuce but I think it tastes just fine as is. It takes a bit of time to make but it is yummy. 1 1/4 cups broth, chicken or vegetable. 1 onion, diced. 2 cloves garlic, chopped. 8 ounces mushrooms, cleaned and sliced. Salt and pepper to taste. Dining Alone: Pan Fried Pork Medallions with Apples
http://idinealone.blogspot.com/2009/08/pan-fried-pork-medallions-with-apples.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Pan Fried Pork Medallions with Apples. If you have been reading this blog for a while you know that I love savory and sweet foods together. This pork and apple recipe looked great on paper and tasted even better on the plate. This recipe came from the Two at the Table book I have been loving lately. After you've got the core out and the skin off, slice up the apple. Slice up your pork tenderloin and get it seasoned with some salt and pepper. Once the pork is cooked with the brown...

Saturday, June 29, 2013. Favorite Things #53 - Rita's Water Ice. When it is that hot something cool is definitely in order. I was so excited to learn that one of the best Summer treats from the East coast had made its way to AZ, Rita's Water Ice. This place is SO good and one finally opened within reasonable driving distance from my house. It opened a few weeks ago but just by pure luck we went on their 'official' grand opening and we got FREE Italian ice! Posted by Dining Alone. Tuesday, June 25, 2013.
Dining Alone: Chicken and Artichoke Packet
http://idinealone.blogspot.com/2013/08/chicken-and-artichoke-packet.html
Sunday, August 11, 2013. Chicken and Artichoke Packet. After eating a cheeseburger on a donut bun I needed to get back to smarter eating. Not that I regret that sandwich for one second but the scale definitely reminded me that what happens in San Francisco does not stay in San Francisco. So I busted out one of my old favorites, a Weight Watchers cookbook I picked up at Goodwill. Folded up tight and ready to cook. Put it in the oven for about 25-30 minutes. The best thing is there is nothing to cl...Cut a...

Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Favorite Things #45 - Spring Training. Yesterday Tom and I took a vacation day from work to go see the Arizona Diamondbacks play the Oakland A's. The weather was perfect and the game was a lot of fun. This is my favorite time of year here in AZ! Have you ever attended a Spring Training game? Posted by Dining Alone. Sunday, February 24, 2013. Rachael Ray's Roasted Chicken and Cauliflower. Could this be any easier? Smash and chop your garlic. Get your pan heated with some oil.

Tuesday, January 29, 2013. The Best Thing I Ever Made - Hot Dogs. I don't often make hot dogs at home, I tend to enjoy mine at the ballpark or at one of the newly popular gourmet hot dog places. One thing I do admit to loving that you don't usually find out in a restaurant is good old Franks and Beans. I made this for myself for my birthday a few years back and you can check it out here. What is one of the things you make at home because you can't find it in restaurants? Posted by Dining Alone. My standa...
Dining Alone: More San Francisco Pics
http://idinealone.blogspot.com/2013/08/more-san-francisco-pics.html
Monday, August 5, 2013. More San Francisco Pics. Since we were gone all last weekend, I have been in catch up mode this past week and we also had no groceries. That means, no cooking this past week to share with you. But I do have a few more wonderful photos from San Francisco and I will be cooking a few good dishes this week. One of the coolest places we went was the arcade near Pier 39 called Musee Mechanique. It had a lot of old school and antique arcade games and attractions. Posted by Dining Alone.

Thursday, November 29, 2012. Favorite Things #40 - Cupcakes. I love cupcakes, anyone who knows me well is aware of this fact. Instead of a cake at our (very casual) wedding. We had cupcakes. I ask for cupcakes for my birthday instead of cake. So can you imagine my inner joy when a new friend happened to mention he owns a cupcake business with his girlfriend? I seriously had the urge to hug him and jump up and down like a little girl, but I somehow maintained my composure. Posted by Dining Alone. It is fu...
Dining Alone: The Person Behind The Plate #6
http://idinealone.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-person-behind-plate-6.html
Wednesday, August 14, 2013. The Person Behind The Plate #6. My sister sent me a book last week called The Introvert Advantage. I am most definitely an introvert and reading this has been pretty enlightening. I often wonder about bloggers and whether this is a social outlet for them in lieu of actually going out and meeting with people face to face. I also think the irony of me eating alone while reading this book is pretty funny. Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? Good question. I...

Wednesday, December 19, 2012. The Best Thing I Ever Made - Salsa. When I made the salsa pictured below I thought there was no way Tom would try this, but apparently as long as it has the word 'salsa' in the name he is willing. He ate almost all of this in a very short amount of time. I would definitely call it a hit. In fact as I was typing this he saw the picture and said, I loved that! 1-2/3 cups frozen corn, thawed. 2 cans (2-1/4 ounces each) sliced ripe olives, drained. 1 small onion, chopped. One of...

Look At What I Made Today
Look At What I Made Today. Tuesday, January 10, 2012. I've made a lot of banners. They're all featured on my Etsy. Monday, January 9, 2012. At the end of last year I had a stint working at my beloved Joann Fabrics, so while worshiping at the alter of textiles I got to wander around the store thinking up different projects I could do. This project came along when I was putting away some patterns and stumbled upon one for these adorable slippers and thought, "Christmas Presents! Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
