Looking at Life the "PC" Way. Thursday, June 30, 2011. On Sunday, June 19, 2011, Matt and I celebrated our 1 Year Anniversary! We spent the whole day together doing whatever we wanted. We decided to do a fancy dinner at home instead of going out to a nice restaurant. (Any dinner at home is fancy to us if it isn't thawed from the freezer or thrown on the grill.) Take a look below to see pictures and what we had for each course! Appetizer: Tomatoes Crostini (Marinated Tomatoes on Sourdough Bread).

A Green Perspective on a Navy Life: August 2014

http://agreenperspectiveonanavylife.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Mason Eldridge is TWO! If you were wondering how busy Mason keeps me, his birthday blog post being two weeks late is an indicator of everyday life! It wasn't hard to figure out what to do for Mason's birthday. He loves animals (and tractors) so we celebrated with a day on the farm! There's a petting farm here in Virginia Beach that he lights up whenever he knows we're going, so that's was the perfect way to celebrate two years of Mason Eldridge! There is no shortage of personali...

A Green Perspective on a Navy Life: Eating an Elephant

http://agreenperspectiveonanavylife.blogspot.com/2015/04/eating-elephant.html

Monday, April 13, 2015. So today has been five weeks since I dropped James off at the pier and five weeks is the longest that we've been separated since little Mason came along. Since he left I always thought that once I passed this point it would get harder because.well, this is new territory, right? 30th Birthday in NYC with my girls. Proud of you Mom, this picture was too good not to share :). You take a guess. While I wish James were here, I am so thankful for all the support I've gotten from all of ...

Thursday, July 24, 2014. My Gingersnap and Closing in on Two. Whether or not she'll be a redhead like her mom is yet to be determined, but nonetheless she's still my little Gingersnap. Annie was amazing all through labor and delivery, Will was, of course, by her side and sending the greatest text updates as Sophie was delivered via C-Section. "She's here! Then the first picture of her that melted my heart. (I still haven't deleted the group text between the family, it. Family selfie from the waiting room!

Monday, November 18, 2013. My Favorite Couple and National Adoption Awareness Month. If you know me personally, you know my sister and I are very close. Not in the "Oh we're sisters, of course we're close" kind of way, but the text at least once a day, catch up once (or three) times a. One year ago they entered the open adoption process. Our family couldn't have been more excited and we rallied around Annie and Will. I thought so too. So check out Annie and Will's Facebook page. Posted by Julie Green.

http://agreenperspectiveonanavylife.blogspot.com/2015/03/on-eve-of-changeand-getting-old.html

Thursday, March 5, 2015. On the Eve of Change.and Getting Old. Their perfect isn't your perfect. Just because something else makes someone happy doesn't mean it has to look like that for you. And by the way, perfect is a dangerous word. Marriage is hard, and so much better than I ever thought it would be. But really, its hard. Marry your best friend, then you get to go through the hard stuff with someone who makes you laugh. Spend extra money for quality shoes. Trust me. We had an amazing weekend last we...

A Green Perspective on a Navy Life: Toasting Our New 2nd Class & Pirate Nation

http://agreenperspectiveonanavylife.blogspot.com/2014/11/toasting-our-new-2nd-class-pirate-nation.html

Monday, November 24, 2014. Toasting Our New 2nd Class and Pirate Nation. The most accurate shirt. Ever. Pause for some background. James is is one of the HARDEST rates in the Navy to make rank or advance. Seriously, he's been a third class for 3 years. After deciding not to put his packet in for Officer Candidate School and stay in Electronics (his passion) we knew this was going. Would you still re-enlist? And without missing a beat, he replied "Absolutely.". How did we celebrate? And shock, Papa brough...

Monday, January 5, 2015. We'll Take A Cup of Kindness, 2015. I am rooted, but I flow" Virginia Woolf. Probably the biggest lesson that I learned is that I'm nowhere close to being who I am supposed to be. I'm a work in progress and don't really need to have it all figured out. Who does? It hasn't just been a great year for our threesome. We've had some incredible blessings come to our. Dad and Laura got married in June and our family grew even more. Looking At Life Through My Bifocals

Looking At Life Through My Bifocals. Sharing my life one day at a time. Saturday, August 15, 2015. On Tuesday when I came out of work I looked up at the sky, as I usually do, and saw the most beautiful clouds. I pulled out my trusty camera to try to capture them. Of course the pictures do not do them justice. It was gorgeous with golds and pinks against the blue sky. But by the time I took Diane home, it had started to cloud up. Thursday, August 13, 2015. AND THE WEEK GOES ON. Does that seem possible?

Looking at Life Thru One Eye. Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Finishing the Arizona Trail. Finishing at the Utah Border. A half day north of Jacob Lake the land becomes arid again. Once out of the Ponderosa pine I dropped back into the Juniper, cactus and sagebrush. This area of the North Kaibab Plateau is famous for trophy mule deer, bighorn sheep and buffalo.
