MIND THE GAP AND OTHER MID-LIFE CLOTHING DILEMMAS | lookingforbluesky
https://lookingforbluesky.wordpress.com/2015/08/05/mind-the-gap-and-other-mid-life-clothing-dilemmas
Special needs and other stuff. August 5, 2015. MIND THE GAP AND OTHER MID-LIFE CLOTHING DILEMMAS. Summer is always the worst time. Finding something comfortable and stylish to wear when you’re getting old and fat (and hot) is an annual challenge. For about three decades the first sight of sun would send me running for shorts and a T-shirt, but no longer. I wouldn’t want to embarrass myself, let alone my children or anyone else. BEING BORED | lookingforbluesky
https://lookingforbluesky.wordpress.com/2015/08/07/being-bored
Special needs and other stuff. August 7, 2015. It’s 25 minutes to 8 on a sunny summer’s evening, and I’ve 25 minutes until Smiley’s bed time routine begins. Oh, and I’m bored. I used to think that only boring people got bored, but obviously I’ve changed my mind about that. The kitchen is cleanish, the carpets have been hoovered, the washing has been put away, and no-one needs me. This entry was posted in Blogging. And tagged being bored. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. WHY ADULT DISABILITY SERVICES ARE NEEDED (PART 6) | lookingforbluesky

Special needs and other stuff. August 10, 2015. WHY ADULT DISABILITY SERVICES ARE NEEDED (PART 6). If I truly loved my daughter I’d want to spend every hour of every day with her, wouldn’t I? If she didn’t have special needs you wouldn’t expect that for longer than a couple of years at most. It’s the summer holidays right now and I spend at least 8 hours a day directly entertaining and helping my daughter, sometimes that involves multitasking (hello Twitter and Tesco! THE GIANT MONSTER CAKE EATING CHALLENGE | lookingforbluesky

Special needs and other stuff. August 16, 2015. THE GIANT MONSTER CAKE EATING CHALLENGE. In all fairness it wasn’t my fault. My eldest daughter sent me a link to the best places to eat cake. In Dublin and challenged me to bring Smiley to all of them. Just to test whether they really are. That good. How could I refuse? It’s also that stage of the summer holidays when I’m running out of answers to the question “what shall we do today? This entry was posted in cafes. The giant monster cake eating challenge.

One Child, Two Homes – Co-Parenting - My Little Babog | My Little Babog
http://mylittlebabog.com/2014/11/28/one-child-two-homes-co-parenting
Up The Duff #3. Up The Duff #4. One Child, Two Homes Co-Parenting. At first when Kayla’s dad and I broke up I would probe her, hound her with a million questions. Where were you? Who were you with? How long where you there for? I felt Kayla was too young to explain the separation but she was old enough to feel the tension and the bitterness. At the age of two she had already asked why I didn’t love her daddy. I didn’t have the answer. What do you say to a two-year old? You see conflict is a completely na...

Would you let your 11 year old watch Sherlock? – Not A Frumpy Mum
http://notafrumpymum.com/family/would-you-let-your-11-year-old-watch-sherlock
Would you let your 11 year old watch Sherlock? 8221; just a tad irritating. It got me thinking, is Sherlock suitable for an 11 year old boy to watch? I stood there trying to remember the details of Sunday nights episode. Yes, someone got killed. I can’t remember there being any sex, I can’t remember seeing anything too graphic or violent, but I can understand why as a parent you wouldn’t want you child to watch it. And he’s now 36! 8221; phase I know O is always going to question what is going on and, in...

The greatest WordPress.com site in all the land! Money, money, money. I think this blog is going to be my equivalent of a hair shirt. I will offload all my nasty selfish thoughts here and show the world how mean I am. What will happen when my dad needs to buy in care to keep my mum at home and there’s no money left? My mum had clearly forgotten that I had driven 700 miles to see her at the weekend, forgotten that I’d brought a cake and balloons and presents for my dad’s 70th birthday and forg...There is ...

Song Of The Moment: See The Sun. By Dido: Life For Rent). I'm coming round to open the blinds. You can't hide here any longer. My god you need to rinse those puffy eyes. You can't lie still any longer. And yes they'll ask you where you've been. And you'll have to tell them, again and again. And you probably don't wanna hear tomorrow's another day. But I promise you you'll see the sun again. And you're asking me why pain's the only way to happiness. And I promise you you'll see the sun again. Ah Finally&#...

Looking for Blue Sky
Friday, March 30, 2018. Hard to believe the 10 year mark has arrived. TODAY is the day! The day that he left my arms and went to Jesus. A decade seems like an eternity yet Nathan seems like he was just. I don't know if other Mama's do this but every day of this Month I have moments. Where I keep re-living what happened on each specific day. The worst part of it all is that I keep thinking - He's going to die in 24 days.23 days.22 days. Like it hasn't already happened! And I will continue to do so! Typica...

Revisiting Liberia
Descriptions and reflections from and about Liberia. Thursday, 5 June 2014. The Rains . . . in West Africa. I am getting attached to the rainy season. Tuesday evening when I went to bed about 10:30p. About 2a I awoke to some low persistent thunder. I lay and enjoyed if for 30 minutes or so. What worked in the 50s has been refined in twenty-teens in ways we could not have imagined “in the day.”. I know, now, that the demo record was more than DEMOnstration. Maybe it was DEMONstration. It was a tec...What ...
