Adventures of the Hopeful :)

Adventures of the Hopeful :). Keeping the Darkness at Bay. I love what we can learn from marvelous adventures like those of Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee in J.R.R. Tolkein's The Lord of the Rings. One thing I learn over and over again is that extraordinary acts of tremendous courage come from those ordinary individuals who choose to take a stand. It's like Gandalf explains in The Hobbit. And truly it is these small acts that keep the darkness- of hardship, of loneliness, of sadness- at bay. Let's begi...

Adventures of the Hopeful :): Always a Mother

http://www.lookingupinsong.blogspot.com/2015/05/always-mother.html

Adventures of the Hopeful :). This is my first Mother's Day since being back. It's still my favorite holiday. :). Today in my YSA ward, after Relief Society, the Elder's Quorum came in and sang to us. Then they gave us chocolate kisses with this quote attached:. So even if we're single or married, young or old, we are mothers and always have been. We have more influence on those around us than we will probably ever realize. Especially to all the great moms in my life:). Brought to you by.

Adventures of the Hopeful :): November 2012

Adventures of the Hopeful :). SoI'm an awkward person, as people who know me may have noticed. Therefore, I have many awkward or embarrassing moments. Most of the time I can deal with them, but sometimes they just get to me. When this happens, I start dwelling and become so frazzled that my day starts turning inside out. What I've realized is that I usually always make it out to be worse than it actually was. If I just continue forward and try to get past it, things go much better. Yep :) Happy Monday!

Adventures of the Hopeful :). The other day, I came across this delightful posting about the meaning of love. Here 'tis. A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, ’What does love mean? 8217; The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined:. 8216;When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.’ – Billy, age 4. And listen.’ –Bobby, age 7. 8216;If you want to learn to lo...

Adventures of the Hopeful :). Hide n' Seek with the Pips. First, lemme 'splain "Pips." This is a word we sometimes use to describe the sibs, the nieces and nephews, the moms, etc. Basically, "the other person and/or people." :) Not to be confused with "Pips," the soft drink. In this particular instance, 'pips' shall refer to the nephews known as Stihl and Benz. Our adventures begin here. with Stihl's love of his mother's shoes. This then turns into a game of hide n' seek. Look at these smoulders!

Looking Up from Rock Bottom – Finding your way back to happiness, success & prosperity

Looking Up from Rock Bottom. Finding your way back to happiness, success and prosperity. May 2, 2013. By Looking Up From Rock Bottom. Is the News Media the Real Enemy of Society? The news itself is now delivered with such dramatic performance as to keep you engaged and prevent you from turning elsewhere for the facts you have to question how that is coloring our perception of the events as well. From my personal stand-point, I find that I am very susceptible to this repeated assault and find myself deali...

Looking Up in Louisville

Looking Up in Louisville. Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Looking Up: Good for today. I will lift up mine eyes. Unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. Looking Up: Good for the end time. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up. And lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh. It's a good day when mom says I can go outside to play.

Looking up Liège

Liège Belgium, in plain English. Thursday, January 3, 2013. Mamma Mia, that's some outstanding pizza! Liège has no shortage of pizza on offer, it must be said. There are some bad pizzas, a lot of passable pizzas, some pretty good pizzas, and then there's this place. Il Pomodoro Romano. But it wasn't the decor that had caught my eye as we'd walked by. it was the sight of the pizzas that had stopped me dead in my tracks. They looked very much more traditionally Italian than any others I have seen i...I had...

Looking Up, Looking Down

Looking Up, Looking Down. A photographic journal of people, places and things. Sunday, December 18, 2016. It's been almost a year since I posted so I don't know if anyone will care but here are a few of the things I've been making this year. There was felt, polymer clay, sterling silver, copper enamel and collage. I tried laser cutting, beading and knitting hand warmers. I still have a love affair with paper, printing and linoleum prints. So many ideas and so little time. Detail of a beaded necklace.
