The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping)

The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping). Thursday, January 4, 2018. Insulating pad on window in the door: monofilament holds it in place. We often camp in pretty cold conditions – subfreezing but not sub-zero. On a recent winter trip, we realized that the frosted window inset into the trailer door was losing a lot of heat. So when I got home, I rigged up a way to hold a foam insulating pad on the inside of that window. I think that other folks who camp in cold weather might find this useful. I then screwed the s...

The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping): Boondocking Ice Chest (Enhanced with Reflectix)

http://lookmomimcamping.blogspot.com/2013/10/boondocking-ice-chest-enhanced-with.html

The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping). Monday, October 14, 2013. Boondocking Ice Chest (Enhanced with Reflectix). I then fabricated a cover to fit over the cooler – here it is sitting on the cooler:. And this is what it looks like on its side, so you can see inside the cover:. The pieces of the cover are fitted together with clear plastic packing tape. Duct tape would have worked just as well (and it would have been so much more stylish). Bought pump on Amazon recently with tubing about $35. I too do a blog&#4...

The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping): August 2014

The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping). Monday, August 11, 2014. Half-open" position for exit window with hinged rod. The emergency exit window on the left side of our trailer has just two positions: fully open or fully closed. That’s because the window swings outward when pushed by a rod - there is no “halfway” position. But sometimes, it would be nice to have the window open just a little, rather than completely closed or open all the way. Here is the rod when partly folded:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping): Tripod supports for stabilizer jacks

http://lookmomimcamping.blogspot.com/2014/07/tripod-supports-for-stabilizer-jacks.html

The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping). Saturday, July 26, 2014. Tripod supports for stabilizer jacks. Since I flipped my axles for extra ground clearance, my stabilizers don’t reach the ground; I usually bring a stack of big wooden blocks to make up the difference. But the blocks are a little bit unsteady. So I made some collapsible tripods, and they really get the job done. Here is what it looks like in action:. Here is the bottom of the base block, showing the slanted holes:. Here is a side view of the block:.

The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping): April 2015

http://lookmomimcamping.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping). Saturday, April 11, 2015. Astroturf on the step bars. Very simple - a strip of astroturf on the step bar, secured with heavy duty cable ties. Since we often travel in the mud/snow/dirt/dust, this keeps the truck a little cleaner - just wipe one boot, hop in, wipe the other, and away we go:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping): Multidirectional Winch Mount on Spare Drawbar

http://lookmomimcamping.blogspot.com/2014/04/multidirectional-winch-mount-on-spare.html

The LMIC (Look Mom I'm Camping). Monday, April 14, 2014. Multidirectional Winch Mount on Spare Drawbar. We have a small trailer and an even smaller driveway - in order to get the trailer onto the driveway and off the sidewalk, we have to pull it at a 45 degree angle from the street, all the way up to a wall next to our garage. There is no room to pull it with the truck - it has to be winched up. Here is a crude diagram of the setup:. Pulley - - - - - - - - - - Winch. By placing the studs at exactly symme...

Look, Mom, Look! | Looking at real life through a mother’s tired eyes

Book Club – Current Read. Book Club – Past Picks. Look, Mom, Look! Looking at real life through a mother’s tired eyes. October 8, 2008. Where’s the Beef? Posted by lookmomlook under Healthful Eating. I loved that little old lady who shouted, “Where’s the beef? 8221; It was a hit during it’s time. If someone were to really ask me, “Where’s the beef? 8221; I would probably respond, “Who cares? Now if you are talking overly processed bacon, that’s another story for me. I love crispy bacon. I a...Packed with...
