Vancouver 2010

Sunday, March 28, 2010. I'm not sure if it is a Vanoc policy, a B.C. policy or just a venue policy but all of us at the Athlete's Village received a CPR doll before the Olympics even started. My CPR training was completed a short time before my trip to Whistler, so what to do with that CPR doll? Thursday, March 25, 2010. Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Two hundred and ten hours and counting. Flags are the only decoration the athletes use to liven the place up. That should get the party started! The 200th hour...

Vancouver 2010: November 2009

http://loosegoose2010.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 27, 2009. I'm just home in Ajax for the weekend and I have had time to think about my first leg in Whistler. I love it out there except things are lonely without my family and everything seems to be "drippy! My training week in Vancouver was the worst because of the rain and because my Bell family was not around either! Maybe the point of all that rain was to set me up for that trip back home on the Sea to Sky highway (which might be called Snow to Ice highway for the Olympics). I was wa...

Vancouver 2010: Olympic Hangover

http://loosegoose2010.blogspot.com/2010/03/olympic-hangover.html

Sunday, March 7, 2010. The Athlete's Village has felt very different this week. Part of it was because only half of our village team remained while the other half went home for a well deserved rest. All of the athletes were gone, with some leaving even before the closing ceremonies. We lost McDonalds for the time being which will improve our diet but forces us to stand in a cue for food that can at times be repugnant! Many days ago I said that we were ready for the Paralympics. We knew then that we s...

Vancouver 2010: January 2010

http://loosegoose2010.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 29, 2010. Twice this week our venue was buzzed by CF-18s. I'm sure each venue here in Whistler is claiming these jets as their own. It seems they do a fly by when the skies are blue so I figure we won't see them again for a while. In the meantime, we get daily 'sorties' from several assorted helicopters. There is also this tethered balloon that we generally see high in the southern sky with what we assume to be a camera. I've begun to call it the "Eye of Sauron" (Lord of the Rings). Many ...

Vancouver 2010: Two hundred and ten hours and counting

http://loosegoose2010.blogspot.com/2010/03/two-hundred-and-ten-hours-and-counting.html

Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Two hundred and ten hours and counting. Flags are the only decoration the athletes use to liven the place up. Remembering what Annlou's school does in Belgium in their final year (where her school marked the 100th day left with a party), I suggested we have a 100th hour party and what the heck, a 200th hour party. I know I still have a bottle of red, a bottle of brandy and a couple of shots of vodka that I am not going to pack! That should get the party started! We decided to p...

Meeting Sarah: August 2009

http://meetingsarah.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 10, 2009. Today is Sarah's actual Birthday. We had decided because of the timing of her surgery that we would have her party early so today is going to be a quiet day for everyone as we are still catching up on some much needed sleep. Sarah is still recovering extremely well but she does get tired so we are trying to keep her quiet. Mommy thought that she still had to have a present on her Birthday so we popped over to WalMart. Monday, January 18, 2010. She called me to give support), swept the tile floor then mopped the tile floor, put away bathmats, drank my tea - now it was time to go get my poor, poor little baby (Mommy had been watching the clock very closely for that hour to pass). Andrea, Wes and Sarah. Thursday, January 14, 2010. Sarah seemed to know that the gifts were for her and had no trouble checking them all out. Santa remembered what Sarah had asked for in their. Sarah still loves her music and wants it on all the time. She is always breaking into spontaneous dances or bopping her head to the music. Andrea, Wes and Sarah. Monday, May 18, 2009.

Meeting Sarah: June 2009

http://meetingsarah.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 28, 2009. Yesterday we went out and celebrated Liam's birthday. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful family that just adores Sarah. Daddy had to work and was very sad about missing dinner at the Manderine but everyone helped Mommy out getting food for both Sarah and me. Sarah had a great time and everyone ended the evening with a big huge laugh. Hope you had a great Birthday Liam. Andrea, Wes and Sarah. Sunday, June 21, 2009. Sarah helped adding the ingredients. Meeting Sarah: Snow and more Pig Tails

http://meetingsarah.blogspot.com/2010/02/snow-and-more-pig-tails.html

Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Snow and more Pig Tails. Sarah still loves to help Mommy and Daddy with just about everything so it was no surprise that she wanted to help with snow removal - although she wasn't out too long before she was ready to hang up her shovel. She did manage to break in the snow suite and make a few snow balls. Daddy helped with this one as she had already taken her mittens off. That they come out. You can decide for yourselves but I think they look very cute. Andrea, Wes and Sarah.

Gavin and Liam were busy playing on Grandma's computer and not too interested in getting their picture taken. Andrea, Wes and Sarah. Andrea, Wes and Sarah.
