Lopers gets its name from the meaning of the English word "lope," which means to run with a strong, natural gait, or to bound with a long, sustainable stride. It also plays off the Norwegian word " løpe," which means to run. Lopers' first official athlete was Toby Tande, a Norwegian who started training under Coach Kevin while living in Mexico. Enrique is a natural athlete who just started running in 2014, while moving to train consistently in late 2015. He most enjoys the triathlon and has turned into one of the best runners and triathletes in his age group in the area. He trains for the triathlon with Rufer but is supported by our program where he gets regular advice, workouts, and a running partner. Kike is from and trains in Monterrey, Mexico.

Totalt ble det 89,5km i første uka, og så mye har jeg aldri løpt på ei uka før, og det var litt gøy! Må jobbe med meg selv for å stå løpet helt ut, men det føles utrolig godt når man er ferdig, å vite at jeg ikke ga meg selv om kroppen skrek etter pause. Cactus Rose 50-miler (80km). Andre uke av treningsplanen mot Cactus Rose 50-miler, startet med hviledag på mandagen, og det var i grunn helt ålreit. Jeg er overrasket over hvor pigg jeg egentlig kjenner meg etter såpass mange kilometer per uke, men klaget ikke over hviledagen heller. Ellers var uka ganske lik den forrige, en hard tempo økt på onsdagen, mellom 10 og 15km de andre ukedagene. Harde fakta fra uke 2:.

Som sagt så gjort, jeg løp rolig i 3 km før jeg satte fart, pluteslig kjente jeg meg veldig sterk, til tider bremset jeg til og med litt for ikke å gå for fort, og jeg fullførte 8km tempo med 4:17 per km. Det var utrolig deilig, og jeg har tatt vare på den innstillingen i resten av treningsturene, og følt meg sterk hele uka. Tirsdag: 10 km rolig.

Then getting an email from coach Kevin, bringing me back down to earth, it was supposed to be 5×1 MILES, not km. Well, lesson learned – pay more attention when you read your trainingplan! Mange rundt meg begynte å gå, sette seg ned og hadde det ganske tøft, men ikke snakk om at jeg skulle stoppe nå. Jeg jobbet så godt jeg kunne med meg selv, “bare fullfør denne kilometeren her”, “behold formen” osv. Selv med noen tunge kilometere mot slutten, kom jeg meg over mållinja etter 3:31 og jeg var i himmelen. Dette var utrolig gøy! Jeg må ha mer…. Jeg ville ha mer…. Working with a coach.
