Saturday, April 18, 2015. Sticks and mud. What else does a little boy need? Yes, those were there too. As Rupert likes to call them. My three favorite boys on the planet. Hardly even looks like arid Arizona. Lots of sticks. Even more mud. First foray into the water. Pants are gone, and into the water he goes! The river is alive.with the sound of splashing! Rupert was less thrilled about the running into the river thing. He preferred the bank and poking stuff with sticks. We made it halfway! Learning how ...

Luh-met-ra Loquaciousness: January 2013

http://www.loquaciouslemaistre.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Clear out a good 15 minutes to read this one. This is a heavy post. So, before you decide to read it, look at this picture of Little J when he was just a wee little bebeh! So much has changed! He's not cross-eyed any more! Now, you can be done there if you want. I've been thinking a lot recently. I think becoming a parent (or having any other major life-altering situations that include you never being the priority) really open up your mind to handle more cool stuff. In shows li...

Luh-met-ra Loquaciousness: March 2013

Thursday, March 21, 2013. Quoth the toddler, "Wa wa! Little J talks now! Well, he makes noises that remotely sound like words in the English language, but I'm totally counting that as talking. Here's a list of words with the accompanying noises he makes in parentheses:. Ball (ball) Boo ya! More (mo) And he still signs it. Mater (from the movie Cars) (mama) I'm not sure how I feel about this. Amen (ah ma) He also says it repeatedly throughout the prayer. Doc (also from the movie Cars) (da). Well, let's se...

Luh-met-ra Loquaciousness: August 2013

http://www.loquaciouslemaistre.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 25, 2013. So what have we been doing while we've been waiting (not so patiently) for our family to expand? A lot, actually! We drove up past Payson, AZ to a couple nice lakes and spent some time hunting for crawdads and splashing around in streams. This studious little kid quickly turned into. This sleepy little kid. He'll make a great college student. That's not bad, eh? Lake fudgesicle = extreme happiness. Little J tried his hardest to free the fishes, but to no. The gardens were stunnin...

Luh-met-ra Loquaciousness: June 2014

http://www.loquaciouslemaistre.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 10, 2014. What do peaches, beards, and Calvin and Hobbes have in common? I don't know why I'm surprised that that is the last time I wrote a blog post, it's not like I have anyone hounding me to write it. But I could do with some retrospection, and you could do with some pictures. We have never cut James' hair. Our babies are cue balls when they're born so what hair they grow I'm extremely proud of, and I can't bring myself to cut it! A few months ago we had a cold day! Here's James attempt...

THE ABEL FAMILY: May 2015

http://kadiabel.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

May 20, 2015. We now have a very playful, independent, fun-loving, 8 month old! Weighs about 19 pounds, and is still very tall (though I haven't measured her). Wears mostly 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers. Can sit up from all fours, and can pull up to stand. She can use anything to stand up now including the walls. She always has at least one bruise on her head from trying to do new things and will NEVER sit still (I have a feeling church is going to be a struggle the next few months). Can clap her ...

Emily & Ryan & Henry & Walter: 2015: 101 goals in 1001 days.

http://ryan-emilymangum.blogspot.com/2015/01/2015-101-goals-in-1001-days.html

2015: 101 goals in 1001 days. We've made multiple lists, posted one once, then deleted it forever on accident. This one is for real. Honestly, being here in NYC is super helpful because this list could just consist of city goals, but we decided to make that a smallish part of the list and still focus on some bigger personal goals, spiritual goals, and goals we have for the boys and as a family. See a Broadway play. Family pictures in Central Park. See the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Eat at Katz Deli.

http://ryan-emilymangum.blogspot.com/2015/04/101-in-1001-update.html

101 in 1001 update! A whole month without blogging? Well, thanks to instagram you still know what we all look like :) But since I've been lax about blogging I've also been lax about sharing some pictures from my big camera, so even though they don't really go at all, here are a few of my favorite pictures of the boys from the last few months. 16 Visit the Cloisters. 29 Eat at Chelsea Market. 45 Gluten/Dairy free for one month. I tackled this goal in January and it was a fun challenge. I'm not one for...

Emily & Ryan & Henry & Walter: pasta salad with salami, provolone, and sun-dried tomato vinaigrette

http://ryan-emilymangum.blogspot.com/2012/10/pasta-salad-with-salami-provolone-and.html

Pasta salad with salami, provolone, and sun-dried tomato vinaigrette. We made this for the weekend and man did it hit the spot. doesn't the name just make your mouth drool? And there are kalamata olives as well. i know, i know. A new, no cook, easy-peasy but fancy and delicious meal. of course it's from cook's illustrated. they know what they're doing, that's for sure. From cook's illustrated: the best 30 minute recipe. 6 T olive oil (I just used the evoo from the sun-dried tomatoes). 4 add the hot, drai...

Emily & Ryan & Henry & Walter: the statue of liberty and amanda and dave!!

http://ryan-emilymangum.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-statue-of-liberty-and-amanda-and.html

The statue of liberty and amanda and dave! Amanda, Dave and Sam came and visited from the 17th to the 19th of April. We hadn't seen them since our last day in Provo way back in 2011. That seems like a lifetime away! Gratefully, Amanda and I have kept in contact through Instagram and through texting and phone conversations and when they arrived it was like we had just seen eachother weeks before, instead of years. Yay for technology! One parent and two kids: I never had a chance). May 24, 2015 at 7:02 PM.

December 19, 2014. This little cutie is 3 months old! This month has been full of learning and growing! Here's what Molly's been up to:. Now weighs 12 lbs 7oz (still just below 40th percentile) and is 25 inches tall! April 30, 2014. We had an ultrasound yesterday and were able to tell that the little one in my belly is a GIRL! She was moving all around, and we even caught a glimpse of her sucking her thumb. It's amazing what they can see on that screen! Posted with love by. April 14, 2014. I feel like I will officially be entering true adulthood this summer. We went on a vacation without the boys and it was amazing. Ryan and I still talk about it. Remember that time we went to Georgia and it was super awesome and amazing and the best? And another bucket list item completed! We had just left the boys with my mom. our kid free weekend had begun! Little festival on the waterfront. Gator balls, anyone? The real reason we went to georgia. Amazing chicken/sausage sandwiches @ zunzi's. August 1, 2015 at 11:04 PM. So jealous. You guys are so cute! I'm from Texas&#46...

THE ABEL FAMILY: 10 months

http://kadiabel.blogspot.com/2015/07/10-months.html

July 20, 2015. Molly is 10 months old! Her personality is really coming out, and she is such a happy girl! Weighs about 20 pounds. Wears 9 and 12 month clothes and size 4 diapers. Takes 1-2 naps a day depending on how active she is, but I think she'll be down to 1 nap pretty soon. Has about 20 oz of formula a day, and 3 solid food meals. She like strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries are her favorite which is surprising because they are so tart. LOVES to be chased around the house....

THE ABEL FAMILY: April 2015

http://kadiabel.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

April 20, 2015. We now have a 7 month old! This age is so much fun and I LOVE being her mommy! Wears mostly 6-9 month and 9 month clothes, and size 3 diapers. Has tried lots of foods, but doesn't understand finger food yet. Can sit up and CRAWL! She gets faster every day, and is so happy that she can move around. Finally sleeps unswaddled for naps, and falls to sleep for them on her own. We did the "cry it out" method, but she never cries for more than 5 minutes before falling asleep. First baby play date.
