Today’s Actual Conversation: Tough Love With the Internet. August 2, 2008 at 12:30 pm · Filed under actual conversations. Me: Internet, we need to talk. Internet: Well, come sit by me, baby. What’s on your pretty little mind? Me: I’m not falling for it today. The platitudes, the lovey-speak. I can’t do it. This relationship…it’s just not healthy. Something has to change. Internet: I don’t know what you’re talking about, angel-face. You know I love you! Me: Oh, I love you so much! What did you just say?

It's big, it's heavy, it's words. January 10, 2011. But in the meanwhile, what have I been reading recently? I’m glad I asked. A couple other things I’ve been working off and on have been:. The modern thriller and how it was ruined by Dan Brown. January 5, 2011. My dad is into thriller novels. Adventure, action, manly men saving the world with manliness. So, by default, I read a lot of thriller novels. My dad gives them to me when he’s done with them. The upside of this, however, is that many of the book...

Inverse Candlelight: July 2008
http://missbanshee.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 27, 2008. You Can Knock Me Down, But You Can't Keep Me Down. It's also scary as hell. This weekend, the bubble burst. It was bound to, as emotion is an ebb and flow, and the high of coming out of the fog was going to taper off. I've been in a fairly wretched mood, with lows that come fast and hard. I'm riding the rapids right now, but this time, unlike all the other times this has happened, is different. I still have hope. Strong in the broken places. That's damn right. Posted by Miss Banshee.

30 is the new 13: No boy bands allowed
http://30isthenew13.blogspot.com/2010/04/no-boy-bands-allowed.html
Thursday, April 8, 2010. No boy bands allowed. Do we have to talk about how long I've been gone? I've been gone a long time. A long, looooong time. The past two months were unexpectedly busy, but now it looks like I will—just as unexpectedly—have a lot more time on my hands. This is probably bad news for my bank account, but hopefully good news for the blog. So. yay? This installment of Every Picture Tells a Story was probably drawn during the height of my obsession with wanting to form a band. Wouldn't ...

30 is the new 13: Dear Girls: Letters to the cast of Rags to Riches
http://30isthenew13.blogspot.com/2008/06/dear-girls-letters-to-cast-of-rags-to.html
Saturday, June 21, 2008. Dear Girls: Letters to the cast of Rags to Riches. So this post isn't a story, but I'm thinking it might be a good idea to check in. On my nonfictional preteen life, which—let's be honest—did not involve many motorcycle gangs or families living in black houses (my own house, at the time, was beige). Was my favorite TV show in third grade, but that doesn't properly convey the intensity my feelings. I LOVED Rags to Riches. I just made it up! Except instead of one female orphan, the...

Saturday, April 26, 2008. Today's Actual Conversation: Well Played, Mom. Bless her, sometimes she plays along. And the results? Mom: Can you believe the process it takes to get a freaking box of Sudafed? I had to show my driver's licence! Me: You know, Mom, the cops are only going to give you so many chances. Mom: What are you talking about? Me: I've told you a thousand times to move it. Someday you're going to get sloppy and blow up the whole damn house. Mom: I have no idea what you are talking about.

Saturday, January 26, 2008. Today’s actual conversation; cats and dogs edition! Me: *walk walk walk. Minding my own business. Walk walk-SQUISH*. Steve Sr: Ha hahahahahahhaa. Me: This is NOT FUNNY. You and your damn dogs. GODDAMMIT! Steve Sr: Hahahahahaa. I do it every day. They should really go on the paper, yeah? Me: YES. They should go on the damn paper. And you should get carpets that don't mask the poo so I end up stepping on it in bare feet. DAMMIT. New scene: Upstairs, with two obese cats*. LMN: I ...
