W1 Group 2: How did you attract/address your audience?

http://www.loretomedia2010w1group2.blogspot.com/2010/05/how-did-you-attractaddress-your.html

Friday, 7 May 2010. How did you attract/address your audience? The audience for our trailer would be 15-29 year olds with a slight lean towards females. And as it social realism it would be really anyone interested in the action that may occur during the finished product. Also it has a thriller element due to the sound, camerawork, mise-en-scene and the editing techniques we used in our filming opening which therefore engage the audience. W1 Group 2: Costumes/Props

http://www.loretomedia2010w1group2.blogspot.com/2010/05/costumesprops.html

Friday, 7 May 2010. The costumes in our film opening was 'party wear' as the protagonist goes to a party before the event takes place. This is effective as it resembles what most people would wear to a party therefore, keeping the film opening authentic. The key prop is the mud as it provides the audience with evidence that something took place that night and also helps the audience distinguish between flashbacks and 'the morning after'. W1 Group 2: How does your media project represent particular social groups?

http://www.loretomedia2010w1group2.blogspot.com/2010/05/how-does-your-media-project-represent.html

Thursday, 6 May 2010. How does your media project represent particular social groups? In our film production we have decided to represent the teenage generation who attend “wild house parties.” In order to create tension we determined that our protagonist (Nicole) would be female, as they looked at as weak and vulnerable as this helps spark a reaction of sympathy from the audience. Due to the fact that our film opening depicts a teenage lifestyle we thought it would be relevant to analysis a clip from th...

http://loretoasmedia2010.blogspot.com/2010/02/preliminary-task.html

The place for all advice, guidance, deadlines and kind words of encouragement. Tuesday, 9 February 2010. Most groups are by now in the very final stages of the preliminary task. You do need to be moving on now and really focusing on research and planning. In terms of your prelim, groups who have struggled / made an error / been told to do so by their teacher, should complete an evaluation of their work - you can find guidance for this on E Loreto. Presents The Diamond Cast and Crew Blog. Wednesday, 12 May 2010. The Diamond Director's commentary. Tuesday, 11 May 2010. I posted the video onto a social networking website called facebook to in a sense cause publicity and get feedback of what the audience may think about this movie. Here is some of the feedback we got on facebook. We also had some partially negative feedback;. But this is also good as it could be used to improve our movie, we count this as constructive criticism. There is also a mentio...

Friday, 7 May 2010. How did you attract/address your audience? Our main target audience would be teenagers/young adults. Because the audience is gender neutral, we did not have to use any storyline/costume/props that would appeal to solely males or females (such as sci-fi, which is more likely to be watched by a male, or a chick-flick, which is more likely to be watched by a female). Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Monday, 10 May 2010. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? To create the project, we used simple video cameras which were relatively easy to use. However, some shots with the camera were difficult to achieve, the tripod could not tilt upwards, low angle shots were unachievable in our sequence because of this. However, the camera was easy to use and record with and has good-quality images. Sunday, 9 May 2010. Friday, 7 May 2010. The shot reverse shot links ...

Thursday, 13 May 2010. Wednesday, 12 May 2010. We feel that our production worked succesfully and although it was not how we originally planned it, it all fit together in the right way. We then asked a group of six of our peers their opinions on our production. 5 out of 6 said they enjoyed it whereas 1 person said it was a bit too long. 3 out of 6 said that they would be interested in watching it as a real film plot. One person said that, "the acting kept up the standard of the film as it was very funny".
