Lori Brouillette's Weblog. My slant on the world…. Los últimos mil (The Final 1000). I just turned in my final report to the Fulbright folks. I am officially done with my experience of a lifetime. I got a little teary-eyed making the following video, but I hope it gives you an idea how important the teachers, the students, their enthusiasm, their warmth and their country has been to me over the last half-year. Today, I was testing a student and he had to tell me a word that begins with the letter 'J'. this is the conversation. Me- "What is a Janjilly? She has lost so much weight, refuses to eat or drink, and is so lethargic. I left work for a short while today, in order to take her back to the vet. Thursday morning we were supposed to leave for Oman- where we would camp and hike THE CHAINS- but plans changed abruptly Wednesday night. and new ones were formed. Instead of packing the trusty Jeep, we had a late breakfast and headed to the camel races. However, when we arrived to the track we realized that in honor of the prophet's birthday- no races! We all left with permanent smiles and plans for a return trip...
