1000 Conversations: I see you for the miracle you are & the gifts you have to give.

http://lorindakline.blogspot.com/2014/07/i-see-you-for-miracle-you-are-gifts-you.html

Sunday, July 13, 2014. I see you for the miracle you are and the gifts you have to give. There are 7 billion people in the world and 6,999,999,999 of them are not me. Who are these people? They are miracles. Each and every one. What if we saw each and every person as a miracle? How would we speak, how would we listen, how would we act? What if part of our own miracle is that our impact is much bigger than we ever imagined even in a world of 7 billion people? What if we didn't dismiss our impact? Simple t...

1000 Conversations: "Clarence" Leadership

http://lorindakline.blogspot.com/2014/08/as-we-begin-another-school-year-its.html

Saturday, December 26, 2015. Clarence is an angel, but his actions and words don't have to be reserved for the heavenly. We may not be able to show an individual how a whole community would be impacted if they had never been born, but Clarence's leadership is more accessible than we may think. Clarence simply makes the time to let George know how much he matters, how purposeful his life is and therefore, how wonderful. Who can you be "a Clarence" for today? Books that inspire are The Energy Bus.

Thursday, June 26, 2014. Don't Let Your Perfectionism Get in the Way of Your Progress. The right words from the right people have the power to inspire us. challenge us to risk and grow. At the beginning of 2014 a valued Twitter colleague, Rosa Isiah (@RosaIsiah), responded to an inspire-challenge from speaker and author Tom Hierck (@thierck) to begin blogging. For the Students: Why Our BYOD Club Didn't Work And It's OK

http://mr5scott.blogspot.com/2015/05/why-our-byod-club-didnt-work-and-its-ok.html

My reflections as a teacher on TEFL, SpEd, edtech and other education issues. Thursday, May 7, 2015. Why Our BYOD Club Didn't Work And It's OK. Earlier this school year, I was eager to be in the process of preparing a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Club. For our upper elementary. I was reading article after article and processing what to do during it. What I. Failed to consider were the steps to set it all up beforehand. A couple of the previous issues were mentioned by the elementary principal to me, but ...

My reflections as a teacher on TEFL, SpEd, edtech and other education issues. Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Our Life at Baishan. Recently, I asked a student to write what life is like while attending our school. This idea came from Pernille Ripp. Who held a #studentlife challenge. This is his story. Baishan School is a private school in Shazikou, Laoshan District in Qingdao, China. The school shares it’s campus with another school - ISQ, which stands for International School of Qingdao. Each class usually tak...

For the Students: Time Flies When You're...Teaching!

http://mr5scott.blogspot.com/2015/08/time-flies-when-youreteaching.html

My reflections as a teacher on TEFL, SpEd, edtech and other education issues. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Time Flies When You're.Teaching! Am I proud of this? Many times I wish I had more than forty minutes for a class, more than four times a week, with my students. I want to spend quality time with the students. Learning. Together. Pushing. Encouraging. Challenging. Growing. Molding. Loving. One of the best ways to do this has been etched in my mind even deeper upon seeing a quote from Don Wettrick.

For the Students: 5 out of 5 Stars for Teaching the iStudent

My reflections as a teacher on TEFL, SpEd, edtech and other education issues. Sunday, December 14, 2014. 5 out of 5 Stars for Teaching the iStudent. If you've been following my story. At all while working at a private Chinese school, you know we're doing what we can to educate students in EFL. A key component missing though is the technology that society, including particularly our students, have moved forward with. The iStudents need to be guided by iTeachers. It is worth it! My reflections as a teacher on TEFL, SpEd, edtech and other education issues. Monday, December 15, 2014. ELLs in China Need #Internet4Schools Too. Two weeks ago, I listened intently to the principal of our K-12 private Chinese school share her vision for the school's future. When she spoke of it, I started to build castles in the air. Maybe this isn't the most professional way to express it, but it's true nonetheless. Where did these thoughts come from? The authors have been blessing me with current.

My reflections as a teacher on TEFL, SpEd, edtech and other education issues. Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Elementary Integration of Educational Technology. Two years ago, I was solely dependent on Twitter. Some of you may remember what happened before and Why Our BYOD Club Didn't Work And It's OK. Umm, hmm. Didn't expect that. Let me think about it. Yes. Think because I am American (or a foreigner in their eyes). The apps I used with the students included Evernote, Safari, ClassDojo, QQ. And (2nd semester)...
