Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog: Thing 6: Online networks
http://sheilawebbercpd23.blogspot.com/2012/06/thing-6-online-networks.html
Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog. Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Thing 6: Online networks. This is rather a long post in which I chunter through some of the networks I belong to, though (apart from Second Life) I wouldn't say I really "network" professionally on any of them. Some of them (e.g. Academia.edu) are more like calling cards or CVs. The online networks which were mentioned in the main CPD23 blog post. Librarians as Teachers Network. Plus the New Professionals. Librarians as Teachers network. And Informati...

Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog: Thing 4: Storify
http://sheilawebbercpd23.blogspot.com/2012/05/thing-4-storify.html
Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog. Thursday, May 24, 2012. I'm not keeping up with my cpd23. Work at the moment, as I've too much to do at work, and also had to pay an unexpected visit to my mum, who wasn't feeling too good (she's 90). However, I spotted something I haven't tried out yet as part of Thing 4, so I spent a little recreational time this morning trying it out and working out whether I might use it. I had some minor gripes, apart from the restrictive layout e.g. it seemed like you couldn't ch...I'm a...

Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog: Professional development in SL
http://sheilawebbercpd23.blogspot.com/2012/05/professional-development-in-sl.html
Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog. Friday, May 11, 2012. Professional development in SL. Most of the people are from the USA (e.g. California, Montana), including Grizzla from Gwinnett College, whose students interacted with my students in SL last semester. A couple of other people are from the UK too. I'm the one with teal blue hair and a maxi dress. This week's topic was "What will YOU do in Virtual Worlds this summer (or winter)? Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog: Thing 4: Why Twitter isn't my idea of fun
http://sheilawebbercpd23.blogspot.com/2012/05/thing-4-why-twitter-isnt-my-idea-of-fun.html
Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog. Sunday, May 27, 2012. Thing 4: Why Twitter isn't my idea of fun. I realise that Twitter is useful. I know there are some times when Twitter is the best place to go for infomation. I recognise that some people really enjoy Twitter. But, personally, I just don't find Twitter fun. And for that reason I don't think I'm ever going to be a major Twitter user. Using my Second Life name, because that seemed like a good idea at the time). Actually getting an account); Dumping. I'd foun...

A cataloguer's experience of the 23 Things project. Thing 9 – Evernote. Thing 11 – mentoring →. Thing 10 – graduate traineeships, Masters degrees, chartership, accreditation. I think it would be more useful for me to work towards Chartership, and this is something that I intend to do at some point – I’m just waiting for the right time, although I’m sure there will never be enough time! Tour de France fever | Two-Wheeled Librarian
https://kdolman.wordpress.com/2014/07/04/tour-de-france-fever
Libraries, cycling and all that makes me tick! July 4, 2014. Tour de France fever. I realised a while ago that most of my posts have been about libraries, with very little of my other obsessions covered. So, today’s post is going to be about the sport I have taken to over the last few years…. To watch them flit past after coming down Holmes Moss. However, yesterday, not only did I realise the weather is going to be fairly inclement over the weekend (Yorkshire summer = what do you expect? Enter your comme...
PS to ‘Tour de France fever’ | Two-Wheeled Librarian
https://kdolman.wordpress.com/2014/07/07/ps-to-tour-de-france-fever
Libraries, cycling and all that makes me tick! July 7, 2014. PS to ‘Tour de France fever’. So, I made a decision yesterday morning, to go and see the Tour at the bottom of Holme Moss where it meets the Woodhead Pass. And I am so glad I did. It was an amazing day! But I got in and continued the cycle with them. 8 miles, it was, but it was almost all up, except for the first run down into Glossop (which I realised I would have to cycle back. On the way back! Would be able to see the road and, as we were si...

Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog: Thing 8: Google Calendar
http://sheilawebbercpd23.blogspot.com/2012/07/thing-8-google-calendar.html
Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog. Friday, July 6, 2012. Thing 8: Google Calendar. It looks like I haven't been keeping up at all the past couple of weeks, but I did. Do a post on the main CPD23 blog about being an "older" CPDer (here: http:/ cpd23.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/cpd-in-your-later-career.html. So I don't feel so. I'm going to reflect here on Thing 8 Google Calendar. And mention another calendar relevant tool, Doodle. July 10, 2012 at 1:14 PM. Agree with you that paper diaries work best for me as an indi...

Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog: Thing 5: Reflective practice
http://sheilawebbercpd23.blogspot.com/2012/06/thing-5-reflective-practice.html
Sheila Webber's CPD23 blog. Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Thing 5: Reflective practice. I'm not managing very well to keep up with CPD23 (work! At the Second Life educator's meeting last week this came up during our discussion, and a number of us agreed that a reaction from some students in the US as well as in the UK is (at least at the first year level) that it is. Has some excellent advice and readings, but I will add Barbara's powerpoint that she gave at LILAC last year Reflection: improving information lit...

Lorna in Wonderland
Monday, 5 October 2015. And in questionable sports news. Today I walked so far around downtown that:. I needed to buy two of those mega-size Rogers caramel-cream chocolates just to keep up my energy. I gave money to the same sidewalk guy twice (he actually told me I had done that.luckily I was out of change by then). I counted 40 coffee shops and one Sobey's before I gave up counting. My phone ran down before I did. Once I got home,. Sunday, 4 October 2015. Saturday, 3 October 2015. A change of seasons.

I'm embarrassed to say it's June and I'm sitting here typing away in my shorts and bra, good job we have no guests and I have the nerve to be blogging about New Years Eve, but here goes.
