Woolly Woodlanders: March 2011
http://woollywoodlanders.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 20 March 2011. I made a little basket recently, from raffia, using a technique I learned at School when I was ten years old, but in miniature. It measures 1cm across. With a single split strand of raffia I get a finer finish which looks in scale with Sylvanians thenmselves. I use a needle to weave the basket. I could also make laundry baskets, cat baskets, sewing baskets . What do you think? Should I make some for sale? Saturday, 19 March 2011. Our Sylvanians really belong to our daughter Abby, n...

Woolly Woodlanders: August 2013
http://woollywoodlanders.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, 8 August 2013. These large bonnets, designed to cover high hair will also cover Sylvanian Families ears, I decided. So I designed my Going to Market pattern, a dress, shawl, hat and underpants. And here is a view of the outfit without the hat or shawl, showing the back of the dress. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Woolly Woodlanders: I'm on another Blog
http://woollywoodlanders.blogspot.com/2015/04/im-on-another-blog.html
Friday, 10 April 2015. I'm on another Blog. One of my Ravelry customers, Three Bags Full, from Vancouver, purchased a couple of my patterns and just a few days later I was delighted when Francesca emailed me to say she had featured my patterns on her blog. Here is a picture of her little koala family wearing a jacket and trousers from my Playing in the Woods and Rustic collections. She says,"Miniature knitting for Calico Critters - too cute! We used Jamieson and Smith 2-Ply Shetland. Thank you, Francesca.

Woolly Woodlanders: November 2009
http://woollywoodlanders.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, 14 November 2009. One of the methods of knitting a neckline in Woolly Woodlander patterns involves casting off a few stitches in the middle of a row, to separate the two shoulder bands. This can give an unsatisfactory finish to the neckline, with a strange droopy lopsided effect to one side. There is a way to neaten the neckline and to create a prettier effect. On the example here the instructions say 'K4, cast off 3, k to end'. Friday, 6 November 2009. I begin knitting . I considered reading (...

Woolly Woodlanders: March 2010
http://woollywoodlanders.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Monday, 1 March 2010. This week I have been working on my dress collection. I felt I needed some glamour in my Sylvanian collection and I began to create some pretty frocks. The first dresses are knitted with 2mm needles and either 4ply sock yarn or lace weight, giving every knitter the opportunity to knit these designs. Here is my lacy dress, worn by Mother Rabbit. When they eventually go into the adjacent garden pond to couple and lay their frogspawn I shall look out for a red frog. The male frogs ...
