Chicago Daily Photo: Time present and time past....
http://chicago-daily-photo.blogspot.com/2006/08/time-present-and-time-past.html
Monday, August 07, 2006. Time present and time past. Standing proud next to skyscrapers and concrete roadways Niagara, one of more than a dozen Tall Ships to grace Chicago's Lake Michigan this past weekend, slowly greets Monday morning and prepares to depart the city. It was a magnificent sight to see the ships - schooners, brigs, sloops - parading off the city's skyline. Posted by Nancee @ 8/07/2006 07:03:00 PM. Nice picture. Tallships always evoke exciting seafaring days of the past. I noticed the axio...

Chicago Daily Photo: Whatever floats your boat
http://chicago-daily-photo.blogspot.com/2006/08/whatever-floats-your-boat.html
Tuesday, August 15, 2006. Whatever floats your boat. I posted a similar photo earlier this summer but this past weekend, while I was computer-less, the boat people had an enormous party.I stopped counting at 100 boats. I've since learned the area where they congregate is called "the playpen." Aptly named. There's music and water toys and skimpy bikinis and big beer bellies and plenty of liquids - and not just from Lake Michigan. Posted by Nancee @ 8/15/2006 06:23:00 PM. Must be fun :). With a title of th...

Chicago Daily Photo
http://chicago-daily-photo.blogspot.com/2006/08/on-wednesday-and-saturday-nights.html
Saturday, August 05, 2006. On Wednesday and Saturday nights during the summer the sky above Chicago's Navy Pier sparkles and crackles with fireworks. Tonight I ventured close to the pier to take some photos. While not your classic shot of a colorful explosion, here's an image from tonight's show. Posted by Nancee @ 8/05/2006 10:53:00 PM. I like that kind of pics. These images are dreams, moments of light. I hope you upload more pics like this in the future. That's some lightshow Nancee! A good traffic jam.

Chicago Daily Photo: Time for reflection....
http://chicago-daily-photo.blogspot.com/2006/07/time-for-reflection.html
Friday, July 28, 2006. Cloud Gate" was created by British artist Anish Kapoo. R Locally it's most often referred to as "the bean." It's a marvelous magnificent metal structure that encourages reflection, both of the city and yourself. How can something so graceful.something that appears to float on the plaza.weigh 110 ton, stand 66 feet tall and 33 feet wide? It's almost impossible not to touch and smile and stand in awe of both "the bean" and the city. Posted by Nancee @ 7/28/2006 05:52:00 PM. Yonka ski...

Chicago Daily Photo: POSH
http://chicago-daily-photo.blogspot.com/2006/08/posh.html
Thursday, August 17, 2006. The rumor regarding the origin of the word posh is that it was formed from the initials of Port Out Starboard Home, referring to the preference of well-to-do passengers to book preferred accommodations on the shady side on ships making passage between England and India. Well the captain of this ship on the Chicago River clearly didn't know his port / left from his starboard / right. Posted by Nancee @ 8/17/2006 09:26:00 PM. That looks like a pretty loaded boat! Your blog is nice.

Chicago Daily Photo: Big John
http://chicago-daily-photo.blogspot.com/2006/08/big-john.html
Thursday, August 10, 2006. Posted by Nancee @ 8/10/2006 06:32:00 PM. Any indication how much is the going rate? Anne: Not sure there's an asking price yet but the current owner paid $220 million for the building 8 years ago. Would you care to make an offer? Good shot - like the effect. Will they take a couple of hundred pounds as a downpayment? Popped back to say that there's an easy teaser on my page. Today if you fancy a go. Didn't know the building will be named "Big John". Excellent, love it!
