Changes… | In both worlds
https://inbothworlds.wordpress.com/2010/04/10/changes
Thoughts from a hybrid photographer…. Let it snow, let it snow…. April 10, 2010. So, since December, there’s been a number of changes back here. 8230; and. er… Happy New Year. Oops… sorry.🙂. Change number 1. I’m using Windows now. I’m through with the “beat the system” mentality. I’m tired of wondering if hardware-bit “A” will work, because there’s no mention of Linux being listed on the manufacturers website. Well, it works for me. And my guesswork/350D exposures look absolutely fine. Let it snow, let ...

It’s that time… | In both worlds
https://inbothworlds.wordpress.com/2011/02/21/its-that-time
Thoughts from a hybrid photographer…. It’s that time…. February 21, 2011. I’m mothballing this weblog. Time to move on, methinks. For the past three years, I’ve done no film developing, which seemed to be the core of this site. In fact, I’ve hardly done any photography. Also, what photography’s been done, it’s certainly not as in-depth and soul-searching as my past stuff has been. So, until next time… farewell. Thanks for reading for the past few years, hopefully I’ll be back. Feed for this Entry. Build ...

All change…ish. | In both worlds
https://inbothworlds.wordpress.com/2010/09/06/all-change-ish
Thoughts from a hybrid photographer…. It’s that time…. September 6, 2010. Having seen… nay, experienced what can happen in the space of a year, I was going to say that things can change within the space of five months. But those changes are nowhere near as life-changing. Ok, so there’s been some changes. Nothing you’d really notice. Updates are still sporadic. Photos are still being taken. It’s the “behind the scenes” stuff that’s changing. Gripe #1: New camera old hardware = software update fun. Solutio...

With renewed vigor… | In both worlds
https://inbothworlds.wordpress.com/2009/01/28/with-renewed-vigor
Thoughts from a hybrid photographer…. In the meantime…. With renewed vigor…. January 28, 2009. For at least a year, I’ve had little chance to actually enjoy using my Canon 350D. The few times I managed to use it, something happened… either something getting in my way, or something failing. Tables have been turned? Was I trying to fit in? I waited. They debated. I waited. They debated. I waited. They debated. I got tired of waiting and gave up with them. Things are changing, for the better as well. I don&...

Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 2:16 PM. Estate sales haven't turned up any great ephemera or photo finds, and the weekly auction has been photo free, but this friday I did find some great enameled tacks! They are in a variety of different shapes and colors. I don't know how I lived without them. 0 Comments: Post a Comment. 0 Comments: Post a Comment. Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 1:07 PM. Here is the cover of a pamphlet about fallout protection from the 1950's that I found at an estate sale several weeks ago. You can read the rest of the pamphlet on my flickr account here. 3 Comments: Post a Comment. My name is Nolan. The blog is named after the Belle and Sebastian song. I spend my weekends scouring estate sales, flea markets, and auctions. There is nothing more exciting than discovering a basement full of paper. Ephemera: The World of Paper.

A picture postcard..? | In both worlds
https://inbothworlds.wordpress.com/2009/05/05/a-picture-postcard
Thoughts from a hybrid photographer…. One month later…. May 5, 2009. May the first this year, it was “International Commie Camera Day”. The idea? Simply to take photos of anything (I think) using “Made in the Communist state of” type cameras. Perfect excuse to try out a camera, methinks. The J8 lens has the tell-tale pi-like symbol on the front, indicating it’s a coated lens. Shame really, but never mind. The Kiev 2 also developed a shutter problem. Shame really… no, it is a shame. So, loading the film?
