Soon to be out matched by a small invading force. What I Made: July. I sewed for me this month! We had a long weekend away in Maryland so I sewed myself two new Dahlia dresses for the trip. The Dahlia dress is hands down the most flattering and practical dress for me at this point. Love it. Going to make myself some longer sleeved ones for the fall. For the girls I knocked out some shorts in the butterfly print (double gauze so perfect for this weather) and Rollerskate dresses that I cut out months ago!

Alex has lost 3 hours of reading and podcast time, he can no longer stroll out of his office to go buy something (unless the Pingus set up a shop selling somethings) but he’s around us all the time (and we are delightful). Few orange slices (best citrus for the job - I tried lemon, lime and grapefruit as well). Whole cloves (doesn't take many). He didn't have to go up against Nellie Peck Hen or old Kick Cow, but he did go out to the garage for butter and tomatoes, and brave the hand mixer and food processor. He learned to separate eggs, beat the whites into stiff peaks, fold them in, and operate the hand mixer all by himself. He is brave. He is skilled.
