Note-I do not live on a moor, but adore Wuthering Heights, hence the title. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. I will sing again. Shakespeare, as usual, said it best-. Sigh no more, ladies, sigh nor more;. Men were deceivers ever;. One foot in sea and one on shore,. To one thing constant never;. Then sigh not so,. But let them go,. And be you blithe and bonny;.

I stenciled the wall in the living room and I love it. It looks like a modern interpretation of flocked velvet wallpaper. Posted by Meandering Design. Wednesday, February 22, 2012.

Lost on the Moor. A repository for random musings, romantic notions, cooking accomplishments (and failures), my latest crafty endeavor and daily life. Note-I do not live on a moor, but adore Wuthering Heights, hence the title. Monday, May 07, 2012. Antalya heading to Kalkan. In the morning we had a fabulous breakfast and wandered around Antalya where we saw Hadrians gate, which was really cool. It was a really old and quaint town right above the sea and we had fun wandering around. I had sea breem with v...

Our Adventures: March 2012

http://coraandcw.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 17, 2012. A Week on the Isle of Skye. Skye, an island just off the west coast of Scotland, is home to several large peninsulas, striking mountains and gravity defying sea cliffs. It also has many tiny little fishing ports, hairy cows, curious sheep and its own award winning distillery. It is sparse and mystical and has quickly become our favourite place in Britain. The light casts different colours on the far-reaching landscapes and the beauty of the island starts to take hold and make an...

Our Adventures: January 2013

http://coraandcw.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 05, 2013. Afternoon Tea in London. Afternoon Tea is one of those quintessential British activities and though we have done it in Devon and the Cotswolds, we haven't had High Tea in a posh London hotel. We didn't want to go to a big place like the Ritz or Dorchester, so instead we found a small out of the way hotel in Knightsbridge, so still plenty posh! The Egerton House Hotel. All in all we had an very relaxed three and a half hours enjoying how the other half, or 1%, live! The Christm...

Our Adventures: Antigua - Water and Sand

http://coraandcw.blogspot.com/2012/11/antigua-water-and-sand.html

Saturday, November 17, 2012. Antigua - Water and Sand. One of the best things about going to Green Island was the seclusion. There were several different beaches you could be be dropped off at, but the best one for snorkelling was Ten Pound Beach which was home to a couple of palm trees and not much else for that proper deserted island feel! The snorkelling itself was good and the visibility was top rate. We saw a whole host of different fish than we had seen at Green Island and also a reef shark! Ricky ...

Our Adventures: August 2012

Saturday, August 04, 2012. The London 2012 Olympics. The real highlight for us was the opportunity to go to a live Olympic event, Beach Volleyball. On a partially sunny afternoon, it is Britain after all, we went along with our friends Oliver and Pascale to Horse Guards Parade. It was certainly a massive difference from our efforts on North Avenue beach back in Chicago all those years ago! We saw two men’s and two women’s matches and all were very exciting as we saw the world champion women&#...Photos of...

Sunday, November 18, 2012. Antigua - Friendly Faces. The people of Antigua are universally friendly and very proud of their small island. They are happy to assist the lost tourist and a little effort goes a long way. We made sure to interact with people wherever we could, both at our resort and out on the island. Vanda in our resort restaurant. The Bay @ Nonsuch. Always made an effort and had great suggestions on food options, while Tim and David made some fabulous cocktails. Half Spanish, half Trinidadi...

Wednesday, September 05, 2012. The London 2012 Paralympics - Meet the Superhumans. Following our wonderful experience at the London 2012 Olympics Beach Volleyball and hearing about people's trips to the Olympic Park, we were lucky enough to secure tickets to the Paralympics. The tagline for television coverage here in the UK was 'Meet the Superhumans' and boy were they right! The Paralympics features athletes with a variety of disabilities, and therefore there is a rather extensive classification system ...

Our Adventures: December 2011

http://coraandcw.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, December 29, 2011. A Winter Escape to the Beach : Camber Sands. Seeking a last minute escape and a way of using some free train tickets, we sought out a beach escape on the South Coast. We had no real idea of where we wanted to go, simply that it should be walking distance to the beach and accept a dog - obviously! As of Boxing Day we had not found anything, but at about 6pm we found 'The Warrens' - a lovely little beach themed house in the village of Camber. Even though we were only down in Ca...

Our Adventures: Ice Skating at Somerset House

http://coraandcw.blogspot.com/2013/01/ice-skating-at-somerset-house.html

Wednesday, January 02, 2013. Ice Skating at Somerset House. The Christmas season in London is not complete without a trip to one of the ice skating rinks they put up at famous landmarks around the city. There are temporary rinks in Hyde Park, the Natural History Museum, Tower of London and Somerset House. We have been to all of them except the Natural History Museum, which is usually overrun with kids, but we have not skated at Somerset House in the evening, when it is a touch more romantic! Faryl Smith ...

Lost on the Mekong|Lost on the Mekong - Haunted Photos Revisited

About the Film & Crew. Lost on the Mekong is a reality-based web series that follows two adventurers, myself and my lifelong friend Walker, as we travel the length of the Mekong River. Six years ago Walker first fell in love with the muddy Mekong while living on it's shores in Cambodia. He developed an indescribably close bond with the people and the culture here, This is his return, a pilgrimage to a special place in his heart. As his friend I asked to join him. We are Lost on the Mekong. We rode out to...

The Adventures Of Two Amateurs On The Allotment. Mad About The Borage! I got a prickly rash the other day whilst pottering around a mates garden. Lost On the Right Path | Risk-taking and traveling the United States

Lost On the Right Path. Risk-taking and traveling the United States. Day 52: The Last State…. After we finished up, we decided to stop for lunch at El Tapatio, just a couple miles away. We both ordered margaritas and the Lunch Combo #68: one beef burrito, one beef enchilada with a side of refried beans. It was delicious, though I am biased, I love all Mexican, it’s like a salt-fiend-cheese-lover’s delight. Nom, nom, nom. And at approximately 4:00 pm, we were on our way home! Here’s hoping my next r...

Lost on the Road  Stories Adventure Travel

There was always some sense of dissatisfaction that wandered around in the back of my mind, never coalescing, never allowing contentment to last. I often wondered if I had missed something, maybe a turn near Albuquerque. And so I wandered a path where the scenery never really changed. Then, what I can only call a conspiracy between fate, inner turmoil, and a good friend, provided that fork in the trail. I took a left when there had only been a right before.
