This particular walk in Edford Woods is only available to the public from February to May. So, on the 31st of May I took a last walk around for this year to see what was about. Tuesday, 29 June 2010. New Forest Birding Weekend - Day 1 part 1. This last weekend I went on a Bristol Ornithological Club trip to the New Forest in the county of Hampshire. The New Forest is about 1.5 hours south east of where I live and is mostly a mix of heathland and ancient Woodland. There were 12 of us on the weekend and here are some of the group striding out to start our first days birding. At this time of year there were plenty of foals about and it was hard to resist taking loads of photos!

Tuesday, 31 August 2010. Rodden Rambles - part two. When I first started coming to Rodden Reserve a few years ago, it was still quite a newly made reserve by the supermarket Asda as mitigation for building on a wet meadow area. All the paths were pristine gravel and the bridges brash new wood. I'm pleased to say that now the paths have 'weathered in' beautifully as have the bridges. No wonderful shots particularly, but it was a lovely blue sky day which is what I've been missing! Thursday, 13 June 2013. Welsh Trip - final post! Another apology. A combination of ill health and continuing computer problems are the reasons for a delay in this final post from my trip to South Wales. For our final full day we decided to head north for a day in and around Dinas RSPB reserve. This is a beautiful predominately Oak woodland in amongst the Welsh hills. Getting ready for a long trek. Some of the Blackthorn trees were smothered in lichen. It was very eyecatching in a wintery sort of way.
