Northern Luxembourg - May 2004

Northern Luxembourg (the Grand Duchy). I visited northern Luxembourg in May 2004, first for a one-day trip and on a second occasion for a four-day trip. The medieval Bourscheid Castle sits on a forested hilltop. The village of Schlindermanderscheid sits high on the hills sloping down to the Sûre valley, above the lower forested slopes. A view from a spur on the slopes below the village of Hoscheid, looking down towards the heavily wooded Schlënner valley. A typical view of the Luxembourg countryside.

Starting at Dunnet Head, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the North Sea on the north coast of Scotland. Finishing at Leathercote Point, where the Channel meets the North Sea at the south-east corner of England. Following the line of the watershed, being the drainage divide between the waters flowing towards the Atlantic Ocean (and its arms the Irish Sea and the Channel) and the waters flowing towards the North Sea.
