Monday, January 4, 2010. Last summer a light aircraft was seen circling above the house and, at the time, we did not know why. Later we found out that a member of the family was enjoying a flight with a camera in his hand. Lou Picou is nestling in the trees in the centre of the photograph. A steep driveway leads up to the house. The gite sits the left of the main house. Puy L'Eveque from a distance. The Lot Valley with vineyards on either bank of the river. Tuesday, December 29, 2009. The Interior of the Gite. This bedroom has an en suite bathroom. The family shower room. This bedroom is next door to the family shower room. There are two fridges so there is ample space for keeping food and beer cold in even the hottest of conditions. The cooker has a gas hob and an electric oven. Sunday, May 30, 2010. Between Cahors and Fumel the scenery is pretty much dominated by the vineyards. The Cahors AOC is based on the Malbec grape producing a rich, full bodied red wine (in my view similar in character to the best Spanish reds). In early spring life returns to the vineyards once again and thoughts turn to the heat of summer and the long hot evenings. Puy L'Eveque can be seen in the distance from high ground above the vineyards. Vines gently burning in the background. Saturday, May 29, 2010.

The grass in the lower meadows is allowed to grow long to enabled the orchids to flower freely. Orchids can be found growing all over the site - some 20 varieties have been identified to date.
