Rangitoto Island (New Zealand). One must-do activity in Auckland is to visit one of the many islands around by ferry, we chose Rangitoto Island! This is an uninhabited volcanic island where visitors can. Walk over lava fields and through lava caves (tubes left behind by the passage of liquid lava. Vegetation varies from ‘raw’ lava fields to scrub and sparse forests including the largest pohutukawa forest in NZ. The lava fields have a distinctive black colour which was very intriguing to see! It is called...

NZ Road trip: the Coromandel Peninsula and how we've tried to save a penguin. On Coromandel Peninsula you can find a bit of every thing: rocky beaches on the east, sand beaches on the west and in between the typical cattle fields interrupted by rain forest! This was the most relaxed New Year’s Eve since years – we were sleeping in the airplane! There was no champagne, no high heels, no stress in deciding where and when to spend it (and with who! Ndash; the New Year arrived just like that! Start blooming ...

This was the most relaxed New Year’s Eve since years – we were sleeping in the airplane! There was no champagne, no high heels, no stress in deciding where and when to spend it (and with who! Ndash; the New Year arrived just like that! We left Chile on the night of 30th December and arrived to Auckland, NZ on the 1st of January 2015! Auckland was our first point of contact with New Zealand. The city. Sure gave us a first impression of the island's people, culture and nature, but it was only when we got to Paihia that we've started to realize the full opportunities that New Zealand was about to give us. This is the story of a couple who fell in love and traveled together around the world for 10 months. We finished our trip! We are now back in Portugal and new posts are heading this way! Crónicas de um Vagamundo. Fui dar uma Volta.

This was how we were welcomed in Peru! Read more about Puno in our previous post. 3 videos from the Titicaca Lake. On our last post. We have told you our adventures to and around the Titicaca Lake. Here are some videos to ilustrate some of them better. The first is the crossing of the Tiquina Strait by ferry, then comes the craziness on our bus trip with crazy school kids and drunk teachers and, finally, the waves on our ferry to Isla del Sol. We finished our trip! Crónicas de um Vagamundo.

Being a woman in South America. I would like to firstly state that this is my own personal point of view (Ines). We travelled through 4 countries in South America and I have to say, I felt the sexism. In Argentina, I remember feeling invisible in restaurants, anytime you needed to order or pay. Always the man. They don’t even look at you. In taxis, asking for directions, at the cafés, it was annoying! I think I was spoilt from Europe. Which century are we in? It was sad to see that this still exists.
