Monday, 7th of November 2016. Your Babe And You. My name is Laurel and I would like to tell you a bit about myself. My first child was born in 1999. The experience I had was amazing and the support was tremendous. I knew I wanted to offer that same kind of support and encouragement to others. I became a Doula shortly after in the spring of 2000. I am an aspiring midwife, and hope to attend school sometime in the near future.

I have a checklist of comfort measures which we can discuss at our first meeting briefly and will go through in detail if you decide to have me as your Doula. Some of the contents on the checklist are:. Relaxation techniques -massage -prayer and encouragement. Soothing atmosphere via music and lighting. Aromatherapy -body positions and movements. We will discuss many options with the goal of a peaceful, positive birth experience.
