Sunday, September 7. Sometimes I get an overwhelming urge to make something. Something satisfyingly quick and easy. I recently bought my daughter some Fimo, and spotted that they also do a modelling clay. I'm really lucky to have a large, well stocked, craft and haberdashery shop a five minute walk away, so when my 'I need to make something' mood struck, I went and bought some. Its hard to tell from the photograph, but this pot is only about 6 centimetres in diameter. Pretty cute huh? Five Reasons You Sh...

A Weekend Hall Revamp | F R E N C H F O R P I N E A P P L E

Tuesday, July 28. A Weekend Hall Revamp. I admit that given I did this hall revamp over a period of several weeks, that it makes the title of this post a bit of a stretch, but if I had had a full two days to do it, I could easily have achieved it over a weekend. Honest! I decided to paint the inside of the front door in Railings (yes, also Farrow and Ball) on a whim a few weeks ago, and made the mistake of thinking the frame would look good in railings too. Wrong! It's because the dado rail is white and ...

Friday, June 27. Ebay table painted in 'Slipper' acrylic eggshell by Little Greene, and the. Frankie' rug is from The Plantation Rug Company. Gold glass votives above are from West Elm, re-purposed as succulent pots! Good job then, that before I half killed it (it's actually recovering really well now that I've put it back in a less sunny spot), that I photographed it. When I was putting an order in for my new Penny Doll brooches. Order, from now until the end of July. Yay! Read this first, okay? I think...

Tuesday, December 23. Styling and Photography Bianca Hall. Asked if I'd like to take a look at their latest collection of vintage table top pieces and design a table scheme around a couple of items. Um, let me think about that. OKAY! As I don't physically have any of the lovely pieces from Chairish to photograph on my Christmas table, this post is half fact and half fantasy. Styling and Photography Bianca Hall. My colour palette this year is neon pink (no surprises there! As I'm a glutton for punishment,...

'It' Sheepskin Stool DIY | F R E N C H F O R P I N E A P P L E

Tuesday, November 4. It' Sheepskin Stool DIY. I've seen sheepskin covered stools around for a good while now, but I recently saw an image of Jaime King sitting in a dressing room on a particularly beautiful one that I think was from Jonathan Adler, and had that familiar 'I WANT ONE' pang. Well at just under $2000, I don't think I'll be buying one any time soon, so of course I started to think about a DIY version. I was lucky that my job was made super easy by the fact that the legs unscrew. I decided...

Friday, June 27. So, what to do? A lick of lovely pale grey paint has started to bring it back to life a bit, and whilst that's been happening, I've been plotting, scheming and planning and dreaming. And changing my mind. A lot. There are one or two fantasy entries in this here, but a girls' gotta dream. 1 Cat paintings by Faye Moorhouse. I'm a bit in love with Faye's work since stumbling upon it recently on Instagram, and bought all four of these cat paintings, for ten pounds each from her Etsy shop.

Friday, June 19. Other People's Houses with LivingEtc and AO. Last Friday I spent the day doing one of my most favourite things in the world, like ever - having a good nose around other people's houses, on the LivingEtc House Tour in Northwest London, as a guest of AO. I felt truly lucky to be asked along, together with a bunch of other super lovely bloggers, for an intense day of interiors fun. Very focused on taking photographs. I know, I know, I'm totally sacked. Lucky for you (and me! I feel a bit so...

Sunday, May 10. Baxters Blue Bedroom Makeover. In the interest of keeping it real, this is what the same room looked like about six months ago when it was the spare room and about to be transformed into Baxters bedroom. To be fair, this shot was snapped on my phone, at night time, once the chaos of the big room swap had already taken hold. It didn't always look quite. This bad, but boy, it really makes a good 'before' shot. Are you ready? I'm not sure I am. Not all the time anyway. Have steered him towar...

Friday, February 27. Cabin, no, I mean Jungle Fever! In August last year, I wrote a post about the 'new' it plants. Which was basically my plant wish-list. I didn't actually own many of them back then, but I do now. Obviously. I mean what kind of interiors fashion victim would I be if I didn't rush out and buy them all? A failure, that's what, and I AM NOT A FAILURE. Are you giving it too much water or not enough? That thing called the internet is also really very useful to find out what conditions they ...
