Living Like a Loved Person: March 2007

http://lovedperson.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html

Living Like a Loved Person. God Loves me and I want to live like it's true. Friday, March 09, 2007. Top 5 Ways of Getting into a Church. I have noticed that some folks have an easier time becoming part of our church than others. Here are a few of the things they have done that seem to make it easier and faster. As a pastor, I love it when folks approach me and say, “Hey, I’m new. Can we get together so I can learn about your church? It really is hard to enter a room full of people you don’t know! They ca...

Living Like a Loved Person: July 2007

http://lovedperson.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html

Living Like a Loved Person. God Loves me and I want to live like it's true. Monday, July 09, 2007. We are proud and humbled parents. In late May Zach, our oldest son, gave the senior address in our church on youth Sunday. It was an amazing moment - a culmination of all the years of parenting and praying. We could not be more excited about the man he is becoming - has become. Here is his short address - it is worth watching, really. Brian M. Wallace. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Brian M. Wallace.

Living Like a Loved Person: Stepping Into the Light

http://lovedperson.blogspot.com/2007/05/stepping-into-light.html

Living Like a Loved Person. God Loves me and I want to live like it's true. Friday, May 18, 2007. Stepping Into the Light. Can I possibly living like a loved person if I don’t have the time or energy to write on my own blog in three months! Kind of ironic huh! I got an email from a friend a while back that God has used to confront me and restore my commitment to my life as a loved person. She had listened to a sermon of mine, and was sharing what God was teaching her. I wrote my friend back today. For me...

http://lovedperson.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

Living Like a Loved Person. God Loves me and I want to live like it's true. Tuesday, May 22, 2007. I have been spending time thinking about Psalm 131 these days. I love Peterson’s version in The Message:. God, I am not trying to rule the roost,. I don’t want to be king of the mountain. I haven’t meddled where I have no business of fantasized grandiose plans. I’ve kept my feet on the ground,. I’ve cultivated a quiet heart. Like a baby content in its mother’s arms, my soul is a baby content. I too long for...

three f's: Verge Highlights 2 - Missional Communities

http://jefffritsche.blogspot.com/2010/02/verge-highlights-2-missional.html

Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Verge Highlights 2 - Missional Communities. Here are some more Verge highlights. Dave Ferguson discussed how to get the church excited and motivated toward the mission of God? This is how he establishes apostolic cultures or entrepreneurial environment. 1 Ordain every Christ follower. Who are you called to impact or reach? 2 Lead with a yes. Ask how later on. Be comfortable with mistakes and failures. 3 Teach people to “go” and not just “bring.”. Pain is the platform to huma...

http://jefffritsche.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 16, 2009. In the last two months, I have added a new baby and have added another job at the church. Needless to say, blogging has been down on the priority list. What better way to kick it back up than to talk about U2's new album. I know you are shocked that a pastor likes U2. At the risk of being cliche, I admit that I like U2. This. Review makes me pretty excited about the new album. Below is an excerpt from it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Saturday, February 27, 2010. Austin American Statesman Article. The local paper in Austin interviewed my friends Jeremy and Christina Gabrysch about his recent trip to Haiti and his ongoing ministry in Sudan with our church. The article represented them well. The article especially reflected that demonstrating the gospel of Jesus Christ is why they go. I was really pleased to see this kind of article in the Statesman. Wednesday, February 10, 2010. http://jefffritsche.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 11, 2008. Old News or Good News. Christians would never say it, but sometimes they act like the gospel is "old news." Most of you guys know that is one of my biggest frustrations with the church in America today. When that happens much of Christianity simply becomes moralism. Michael Horton's new book addresses this issue: Christless Christianity: The Alternative Gospel of the American Church. You can read more on Justin Taylor's Blog. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). three f's: Leadership and Identity

http://jefffritsche.blogspot.com/2009/06/leadership-and-identity.html

Friday, June 19, 2009. I recently reread one of my favorite books on leadership called Tale of Three Kings. By Gene Edwards. It is written as a story exposing convicting leadership principles from King Saul, David and Absalom. It is great to be reminded of the upside down paradigm of leadership and identity in the Kingdom of God. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Husband. Dad. Pastor of community at FEFC Austin. three f's: November 2008

http://jefffritsche.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, November 22, 2008. In my study on 1 Timothy 5:1-2, I was struck by the little phrase "with all purity." Purity in this passage is in the context of respect and mutual submission. And the question is what does purity have to do with respect? Often times purity is talked about in terms of what we don't do. Obviously that is a part of purity, but pursuing purity from this passage is a proactive way to give respect to one another. Tuesday, November 04, 2008. Here is an excellent post.

http://jefffritsche.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 24, 2008. Txt messaging and culture. I really appreciate the recent work on Christians in culture. I believe that our call as Christians should involve interpreting our culture as well as interpreting scripture. That is the good work of each of us as missionaries. Too often we either throw darts at culture or simply let it wash over us instead of asking how we can be involved in the redemption of culture. On Andy Crouch's blog. 1 What does text messaging assume about the way the world is?

Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Thursday, June 05, 2008. On the way to mission in this pagan place, they face the mother of all storms. And what comes out - FEAR. Monday, June 02, 2008. Is the biggest slum in Africa and has over 1 million people living there. I was amazed as he told me stories of ministry in the slums especially in light of the tribal tension this year. Needless to say, my perspective is being changed. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Husband. Dad. Pastor of community at FEFC Austin.

http://jefffritsche.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 03, 2009. But I found the last half of that verse very interesting. He says, be zealous and repent. What is the call for the lukewarm? Be zealous again. But how do you do that? The response is not simply emotionalism, but true passion that is based in gratitude for Jesus. We wouldn't naturally think this way, but true repentance actually breeds passion. Living Like a Loved Person. God Loves me and I want to live like it's true. Thursday, January 17, 2008. A friend of mine has this quote as part of her email signature. It arrested my attention. Living, Leading and Learning as if it is really true. February 21, 2014. I wrote a letter to a friend this week on the occasion of his 40th birthday.
